I was involved in the SCOC the same time as you do remember you from early events like Top Speed Challenge 1
Well thank mate for dragging up old bad memory's !
I loved that car and it did me 6 years!
Then I bent it !!!
That was a few years ago now.
After that I did a year of ***** buckets then an Integra DC2 and now I'm on a RS200.
But looking to move on soon.
So where about are you ?
Your welcome to have a go in mine.

For dinner and maybe a movie?
;)
ONLY JOKING!!!!!
Im in Essex and am looking at getting an RS200 manual. But I have NO IDEA what theyre like to drive. There are a few IS200s on the trader I intend to go look at and have a go in - just to see if I actually could live with the economics offered within the cabin etc and make sure im comfortable with the driving position etc.
So. Anyone in or around ESSEX/SUFFOLK are (or anywhere nearer than the nearest car for sale to me which atm I think is Hounslow! )
Cheers in advance :)
im in suffolk mat
where abouts are you in essex and do i know you from the SXOC ????
Merlin

When I had my lights apart I blackened the silver bits and whilst there I also tinted the orange bit all done with a tin of smoked spray purchased from the local motor factor

Did you manage to find a wiring diagram for the pins on the back of the instrument cluster ?
Trying to figure out how to wire up my new clocks.
Widnes
The plug I'm trying to figure out is the one in to the back of the instrument cluster
Its 2 rows of 11 pins 22 in total.
Looks like C10 or J18 or T4 would it be possible to get the relevant wiring diagram for them please
Many thanks

err i bought it :):):)
the mileage isnt stored on the ECU :(

it looks the nuts tho
it will need a slight re wireing as when i switch the my lights on the display goes out.
as i only got it today i havent had time to fiddle with it and have just pluged it in to have a look test it.
have pmed monster mat as i think he fitted one a while ago !

Hi
I have a full set (front and rear) of aftermarket stick on one’s going spare (unused and still have the sticky stuff on them) as I picked up a set of genuine altezza one whist in HK
Oh and far as I know you can’t a full set of 4 of the ones that tuck in under the window
I did have a front pair of them but couldn’t get the rears
And the sticky stuff on them is just M3 sticky foam tape

Ok here is the story my rs200 was involved in a accident (not my fault)
3rd party insurance are disputing the value of the vehicle, they are giving it a value of a normal lexus is200
where can i obtain a value for it from? and how can i dispute it with them?
The vehicle is a total loss so they will payout on it
Thanks any help will do
only true place to gauge a value is to find an equivalent on auto trader !
in the past i have spoken to the assessor and argued it with them and told them to find an equivalent one for me !

i fitted 2 sets of ballasts (dipped and fogs) under the lights to the chassie rails behind the bumper
thay are in the same space as the fog lights and washere bottle
you will need to take the bumper to get to this area tho !

Has anyone tried these bulbs they seem too cheap. Ive sent someone who bought them a message to see if they have had any problems with so will have to wait and see.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...A:IT&ih=015
If they are any good should compliment the angel eyes nicely without the expense of a HID kit.
well the reson i did my lights was that i fitted HIDs at the same time !
i actualy got 3 sets for main, dipped, and fogs !
never fitted the fogs cos i ran out of room for the balasts :(
but i dont like HID in the main as it takes too long to warm up and you can never use the main beam for that long due traffic.
so im gonna move the main beam HID to the fogs and go back to normal bulbs for the main
but i have a spare set fo HIDs if any one is intrested ? :)
oh and i orderd the osram siverstars for my main beam !

i like to see where im going :):):)

Ive used the rings from AAC they are very good but are very fragile as the are made from glass the ones on ebay seem to be in a plastic case so should be stronger. I managed to break the 2 small rings whilst fitting mine and had to send for some more.
You could try to wet sand the lens, ive seen a few posts about thi on my.is
Ive got a mate who imports a lot of cars and he said to try and give it a few coats of T-cut and then polish. I think ill try that first before buying new ones.
i did try cutting compound and thay did remove some of the yellowing but my ones seems to have a crazeing actualy within the lense it self !
you can only see it when the ligths are on as its so fine
it looks like theres a slight misting in there when the lights are on
was hoping that the oven process would remove some of it but didnt !
hence gonna order new lights soon !

I was going to go with a set from Advanced Automotive Concepts but they are pricey compared to other sets ive seen.
Which ones off Ebay did you get so i know what to avoid.
My Altezza is a 1998 but the kit says 01 - 05. Did the lights change at all from 98 - 05?
they were a set of CCFL ones cant remeber from whom i got them but i paid 40 for them
i just didnt like the way thay fitted the small ones were ok but the larger ones seem too small
but but i understood why when i fitted them and it didnt look quite right to me !
http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/ind...showtopic=47632
far as i know all the lights were the same !
-
Thanks for all your help. All I need now is some angel eyes to finish it off.
thats what i was doing till i got ****** off and with a dose of rage and they ended up in the bin !
my ones were a cheap kit from eBay and i didnt like the way thay fitted and i figured thay are too unreliable and didnt want to take the lights apart again to remove them so i ended up not fitting them !
some people have done it with great sucsess but not me so be warned

Hi
Is it possible to change just the lense on the headlights and if so where would i go about getting them?
After seeing the angel eyes they look good and i fancy a set but my headlight lense is not clear its a dull yellow and id like to change it to a clear one but dont fancy buying new headlights just for that.
Cheers
i dont think yopu can just get the lense bit !
its not ment to be a user serviceable part.
iv had mine all apart to tint them and have found some slight crazing on the lense so am about to order new ones.
-
such as the black faced type....
the black ones come from toyota/lexus !
part numbers are no the forum somewhere.
-
thank you
ill start the oven up now :)
-
i have just got a set of halo rings for my altezza but not 100% sure if they have sent me the right ones !
those who have done the conversion please can you confirm that these are the ones that will fit the IS200/300/altezza
the small ring looks fine but the larger ring looks too small and not sure if it should be a full ring ?
think it should be a little more like the smaller one with a small flat spot on the top !

Definatly mate, well worth it, as Fargo said, they are a lot easier to install than the LEDs and in my opinion look a lot nicer too :)
+1 for one for the Altezza. Ill see can i round up another few lads from Tezzaworld!
2 for tezza :)
any luck from the Tezzaworld ??
