  1. i phoned bell and i told them its altezza and the guy goes it classified as a is200 import so i will still be covered.

    is200 import = AS200 !

i went through that with Tesco's and when i spoke to them they found the RS200 on the computer and then added some 150 on the premium !

bear in mind the insurance people do legal stuff for a living and know every way how to not pay you !

just be carefully and ask yourself can you afford to lose the cost of your car if they don’t pay out !!

  2. the ambient temp sensor in the little grill as mentioned above !

9 out of 10 times its been un plugged when someone has removed the panel

my car had exactly the same problem and that was the cure !

its only 3 screws so tale it off and have a look !

also make sure that the tube to it is open and kink free !

  3. Sorry that this is a bit off topic but how do you get the orrange bit out the headlights???

I have thought about it and wanted to put the orange/silver bulbs in but thought the organge bit wasnt removeable!?!?!

Cheers and sorry for the off topic bit too!!! :shutit:

i think it is but you will have to take the headlight apart to do it !

i was gonna remove them and replace then with siver bulbs whils doing the smoke mod !

  4. picks as promised !

i have the old wing in the garage :)

  5. well i really liked the car and was gutted i bent it !

so decided to get another one but as i need a car to get to work i was gonna get a throw away car till i found another one !

looked on autotrader and there it was !

so i got things going on it and went to look at it and drove it home !

couldnt belive there was another manual in the same color on there.

couldent belive my luck as its got 40k less miles and cost me 500 more !

and i still have the odd bit ive "robbed" from the old one (hoop spoiler manily)

  6. thanks for the comments guys !

    as i said i was a ***** !

i was on a driving too fast, playing with the levels of grip and it went wrong and bounced it !

pretty sure the cars is dead :(

dont really want it back as i think the damage may have reached the chassie

wouldent be happy having a car with that power and thnking i cant really trusting how straight the car is

    .

    .

    .

but the good news is !!

    iv got anonther one :)

less miles but 6 months older !

my old one had done 90k and never really was happy with that !

oh and this one has all the skirts already and i still have the old wing in my garage so i can fit that :):)

    will post picks soon !

  7. are they "idenical" or just the same fitment ?

i ask cos i want a chrome tail pipe for my alttezza :):)

and i cant find one that fits over and 80mm pipe !

and i see that lexus do one for the is200

i know its sad but mmmmmm shiney :):):)

  8. Mmmmm

Think I got it figured out ish !

The AC worked for a while this weekend but today has packed up again !

From what I can figure out

The AC compressor is run of one of the main belts on the front of the engine

And the pulley is constantly spun with the engine

There is a clutch type thing in the pulley which engages when you push the AC button

This don’t seem to engage most of the time but how ever sometimes it does !!

Going to try and “waggle” the connection tonight as this plug is at bottom of the engine and can have corroded!

Well least iv tracked it down to what’s it not doing !

Just got to find out why now

Spoke to a mate who’s works for a independent garage he reckons I would struggle to find an independent that could read the codes on AC on a jap car and struggle even more as it’s an import

But i now have a CD manual on its way !

  9. I am listening Stav and have been watching eBay

Did try to get one but someone beat me to it

The hot and cold thing has been sorted now

There’s a ambient air temp sensor behind the dash and that wasn’t plugged in

So now it is and its fixed !

The AC light still flashes tho !

Not had a chance to get to Lexus to get the fault code read as yet
