  2. Forgot to say that i did a diagnositc check and evertything was ok without any error codes
  3. Regards to you all, I have this annoying issue with my IS 200 auto that i am trying to sort our for almost a year, engine starts and runs smoothly on idle, when i push the accelerator especially when car is not moving , at around 2500 to 3000 rpm, the engine is running rough/trembling , fills like is unbalanced, above that rpm it seems to be fine. The issue is more noticeable when engine is cold. At cruising speed (3000 to 4000 rpm) engine is smooth. I took advice from quite a few garages and i replaced all coil plugs, cleaned the fuel injectors cleaned the vvti oil valve. Fuel consumption is normal. Somebody else told me that it might be the engine mounts but is hard to believe so, as i do not have any other noise coming from the engine. The only other issue i have with my car engine is that it consumes some oil, in the mornings when car is cold i can see some white smoke coming out from the exhaust it stops afer a few min, don't know if this is relevant to the trembling issue. I will be very happy to hear any advices especially from other owners that have same or similar problems. Thanks Athos
  4. Thanks for quick reply. I will do that.
  5. I do not have a way to measure temperature.I believe driving 30 min in Cyprus conditions the exhaust pipe where sensor is located should yet to its max temp whatever that is. I measured the resistance after 5 min, 10 and 30 min driving and its value is around 17 to 18 Ohms. I have been monitoring the fuel consumption for a year and is on average 25 mpg mostly city driving. The car is auto.
  6. I got this info from Lexus IS200 Technical CD and would like your comments. Oxygen sensor (Bank 1,2 sensor) the one in engine compartment. Heater Resistance must be 11 - 16 Ω at 20 ° C (68 ° F) 23 - 32 Ω at 800 ° C (1472 ° F) Using an reliable ohmmeter i measured mine and found it to be ok at 20 ° C. But reading when hot is 18.3 Ω that is lower than is supposed to be. Manual says that it has to be changed if measured values are out of limits. Do you believe that i have to get a new one? Does this influence fuel consumption?
  7. Thank *** my next door neighbor is an old lady having hearing problems Hope to hear from anyone soon as how to do this as Lexus Cyprus ask for 35 £ for programming the key. I am supposed to take the car by Tuesday. Saving 35 £ will be 20 beers at local bar.
  8. A few days ago I bought a new key from ebay (Canada) for my IS 200. The key has 3 buttons (Lock, unlock and boot) I manage using instructions from forum to make key recognized from immobilizer. I also tried to program transmitter but no luck. I followed instructions below (tried that many times). #DRIVERS DOOR OPEN AND KEY REMOVED FROM IGNITION SWITCH . INSERT KEY INTO IGNITION SWITCH , THEN REMOVE IT . WITHIN 40 SECONDS - PRESS LOCK AND UNLOCK ON THE VEHICLE DOOR LOCK SWITCH AT 1 SECOND INTERVALS 5 TIMES . CLOSE AND REOPEN DRIVERS DOOR . WITHIN 40 SECONDS - PRESS LOCK AND UNLOCK ON THE VEHICLE DOOR LOCK SWITCH AT 1 SECOND INTERVALS 5 TIMES . INSERT KEY INTO IGNITION SWITCH . SWITCH INGNITION "ON" AND "OFF" ONCE TO PROGRAM A NEW KEY CODE WHILST RETAINING THE ORIGINAL CODES OR TWICE TO PROGRAM A NEW KEY CODE WHILST ERASING THE ORIGINAL CODES . REMOVE KEY FROM IGNITION . *SYSTEM SHOULD NOW LOCK AND UNLOCK VEHICLE , ONCE OR TWICE DEPENDING WHICH MODE HAS BEEN SELECTED* WITHIN 40 SECONDS - SIMULTANEOUSLY PRESS AND HOLD KEY "LOCK" AND "UNLOCK" BUTTONS FOR A MAXIMUM OF 1.5 SECONDS . WITHIN 3 SECONDS : PRESS ANY KEY BUTTON FOR A MINIMUM OF 1 SECOND . NOTE --- IF SYSTEM LOCKS AND UNLOCKS TWICE VEHICLE TWICE , PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED .# After pressing the two buttons together nothing happens. Any ideas
  9. My mpg real time meter is not working properly. From an older post i have read that the mpg meter gets its data from the Air pressure sensor so i thought that it might be dirty or blocked.
  10. Thanks for quick reply. I wonder if it needs to be cleaned from time to time and also how to do that.
  11. Does anyone know where the Air Pressure Sensor is located? From what I have read it should be somewhere on the air intake manifold. I will appreciate a picture of it. Thanks Athos
  12. Now that I am sure that my mpg meter is not working properly I am going back to my earlier post concerning the Air Pressure Sensor. From what I have read on the forum the mpg meter actually gets its readings from this sensor located somewhere on the air intake manifold. I want to have a look at it since it might be is dirty or damaged. Does any one know where this sensor is located and how do I clean it. Thanks.
  13. Just to make it clear the needle of my mpg meter points at the top of the gauge (maximum reading) when idling, the same happens when going downhill with my foot off the petal. Sorry to ask again, is this normal?
  14. Thanks for your quick response. It seems that there is something wrong with my mpg meter. From what I have read the meter actually gets its reading from a pressure sensor on the air intake manifold. So probably the sensor is dirty or damaged. Does any one know where this sensor is located and how do I clean it. Thanks again.
