whilst applying the brakes everything seems fine until the point the car comes to a stop then there is a clunk noise. this noise is also heard whilst brakeing and turning at the same time. any ideas !!!

i have a 1999 is 200, when first starting the ignition and ocasionally when accelerating there is an irritating noise of what sounds like running water or petrol........is this common. also when first running the car there is faint rattle which lasts for about one mile then stops....dont thing it is the engine or exhaust as it does not differ in pitch when accelerating...any ideas ??????
