  1. I'd read up on some real life experiences with regards to pure 99.9% Methanol injection - it's been done numerous times :).

Do you have any links me old buddy?? as my brain won't let me believe 1.5bar on a T67 running stock ecu/injectors with meth and SAFC

  2. Worst case...if you get a boost spike running a 61 or even a 67mm turbo, you'll more than likely run stupidly lean and end up blowing the engine :). Not worth the risk IMHO...although you can also run Meth injection (Meth is cheaper than race gas!) and you'll be able to run approximately 20-22psi (considering JDM 440cc injectors are used along with Meth) and that would give you some sort of "leeway" with regards to a boost spike. Again you would need some sort of S-AFC and a Meth Injection kit which has a progressive controller.

20-22psi, T61/67 turbo, stock ecu, stock injectors, meth injection, S-AFC.......

  3. My bad, I've now read to page 2, but I get bored easily, which reminds me................. :P

I have no qualms about the Denso being more reliable than the Walbro and even flowing more at higher voltages. (although I've seen no test data, it's easily believable)

My main problem with it as stated before, these are old pumps. Lets look at yours, alot newer than my OEM, but yet still 8 years old (and covered x amount of miles/running time). You obviously spend a few quid on your car, would you seriously be happy to now do this mod??

I don't know how much the OEM pump is from Toyota, but going from US prices, looks as though it'll be around £200ish

The Walbro flows more at stock voltage. My Walbro cost me around £52 from the states to my door. Took me less than an hour to install, aswell as doing a "how to guide" in the process.

If I have to change this every few years as part of routine servicing for piece of mind, I have no problems with that.

I'm all for something different away from the norm, but I think when it comes to something like this, I'll stick with being a Lemming and follow the others.

  4. You should be able to wire in the Emanage using the MK4 JDM Supras pinouts, as the engine management pins are the same between the JDM Supra and MK1 Aristo, it's when it comes to the trac/gearbox and aircon control it differs.

The JDM Supra ECU will run and drive an Aristo, I know, I've done it. But you loose the trac, ECT and aircon, also will throw the O/D light on.

There has been reported problems with the Emanage and the early MK1 Aristo ECU's though.

    HTH

  5. There's a MK1 Aristo currently in the UK with the 6 speed swap, you'll find it on www.mkivsupra.net/bbs or www.lexusownersclub.co.uk

Not alot of help, but always best to get the facts from someone who's done it/or owns one.

  6. You have a Toyota, it was built by Toyota, and was on the roads before the release of the GS300. You also have a Toyota engine that wasn't fitted into any Lexus.

I can give you the part number if you like so you can buy the part from Toyota (Lexus won't sell it) and get it fitted at any garage.

  7. how would going to electric fans solve the water pump issue

regards the leak, check the thermostat housing, there known to weep and eventually leak ...DSCF0025-1.jpg

this is where they leak on the mk 4 supra

Your right it wouldn't I was having several conversations at once, one about a radiator, one about th hydrualic fan the Aristo uses and this water pump issue.

That picture shows the na mk supra pump which is different to the TT

  8. Anybody have any opinions on this?

    Yeh, (surprise surprise :P :D )

If you want economy/worried about MPG, by a Golf TDi :)

We've got a guy just changing his LPG system for a better one so it can handle more power/boost, Look for user GSW on my forum, he's a helpful chap.

  9. No worries, a heated debate is always a laugh at the end of the day, unless anyone takes them seriously.

Don't think there's a LPG system capable of running those sort of bhp figures at the moment.

Hope you've got big pockets :D

And for those sort of figures, a FMIC will be recommended

  10. misinformation, how so exactly?? You jump in a suggest FMIC without knowing anything about the OP's car??

What about the FMIC blocking the rad?? why did Chris Wilson spend time and money R&D'ing a SMIC when there's so many cheap FMIC's on the market?? Why did Toyota fit a SMIC on the Aristo and MK4Supra?? when they'd previously fitted a FMIC on a MK3 supra?? (actually scrap that as it's a crap point :) )

Looking through your old posts you once said (which is spot on advice)

"Also with the stock SMIC you can actually "enhance" it's efficiency by doing ALOT of ducting and clever little tricks to get more ambient air to it, as far as I know this is good till about 400whp after which a FMIC would help out ALOT!"

So your views have changed then.

    Misinformation, bless.

  11. Unfortunately the internet is full of people who love to give lectures, and 'prove' their knowledge.

How about taking a bit more time, and answering the OP's original question??

To answer the question fully, there needs to be more info from the OP.

Anyway, I'm being watched, so better behave :D

  12. Whoever up above is saying a FMIC at BPU will only give lag doesn't know anything with regards to basic physics, turbochargers, etc - no offence ... please do NOT spread misinformation :).

I wouldn't have bothered replying, but seeing as it's dead around here, might aswell help with the post count

    1) We have sequential turbochargers, where lag is virtually non-existant.

Can you tell me how to drive off boost, as in one of your other posts in a different thread??

. The more volume of air that needs to be filled up, the longer the "lag" would be as it would take "longer" for the air to be pressurised and this happens in the pipes and the FMIC.

Exactly, i should have explained a little more, but sometimes a short answer will do. People associate FMIC's as huge great things they've seen on TV, these although will cool the air better, will give you no driving gains due to the lag at stock/bpu

The stock SMIC is well designed, the uprated SMIC linked to above is a good upgrade to replace the stock one, but I would prefer a FMIC due to the above reasons.

    Shame it won't fit.

OT: If you want a nice FMIC that will work wonders (proven to 1000bhp levels), let me know...I'll point you in the right direction.

But laggy at BPU levels, as you said yourself it needs to be matched to an specific application.

  13. G is the new group isn't it??

The Aristo doesn't fall into it due to it's age. So it's £190ish a year.

Yes, they have to run on the higher octane stuff.

I average 18MPG, but it's not a daily driver, although looking like it might have to be soon.

Putting the turbos into TTC will help with MPG.

£4k on a runaround, plus insurance, going to be a long whil before it payed for itself.
