  1. Whats the colour matching like, as would like this to be as near as perfect. :)
  2. Andy I have just bought (27th Aug) an IS220d as a company car from the Newcastle branch for £18,995 and I ve no complaints so far. I ve only done 300 miles and so far my return mpg is 36.5 urban (non motorway), will be doing a long run on Friday when should get into the 40's. Ive also got an A4 2.0 TDI convertible and I prefer driving the Lexus, as it's a smoother driver and more comfortable. Although the Lexus does suffer from turbo lag.
  3. Has anyone added an aftermartket mod of the parking sensors to an IS220, as I am looking to do this but believe that Lexus charge somewhere in the region of £400 Is this charge standard or has anyone had this done cheaper and to the same standard? Thanks
  4. Hi and Welcome, do you have any pics yet?
  5. I think I will cope, especially as the pro's outway the con's
  6. I bought the IS200 originally with a small amount of bodywork repair which cost me £65 to repair, for a very very good price, and then it only had 28k on the clock. Then after only 9k miles in that time I put the car up for the same as I bought it and I had a caller within 6 hours, who bought it that week. ;) Now for the 220d which is a fantastic car, a pre reg which needed to be sold by the 1st September so was able to get a very good deal. It's certainly not a top spec but still as a base model is a great car to drive. My only criticism is that it suffers from turbo lag, or will this improve once the car has been broken in? Thanks all for the warm welcome. :)
  7. Hi All (again) I registered here last year when I bought a IS200 on your collective advise, and was very pleased with the 16 months hassle free motoring. I sold the IS200 in March this year for £400 less than I bought it, 'W' Reg and with only 37k on the clock. Since then I now have an A4 2.0 TDI convertable, and now a new addition to the family an IS220d on an 08 plate. Bought the car last week from Lexus Newcastle for £17,995 with only 3 miles on the clock. Which I think was a really good price. Nice to be back with you guys, even if I was only a passive member in the past. Cheers http://www.jardineusedcars.com/control.cfm...amp;startRow=11. (3rd bottom image, list price shown as £18,995 with 20 miles on ODO)
  8. Well I am now the owner of an IS200 at last!!! (I think it it's an Altezza as imported from Sinagpore????) It is the one that is detailed above however I did manage to come out with an absolute bargin, as I drove away only handing over £6,700 cash :) There is some slight damage to the paint work only that will cost £350 to be fixed plus a 30k service £170, so I am a happy chappie right now. Once she has been into Lexus for some TLC I will post up some pics.
  9. I have spoken with the sellar who will sell the car for £7,000 the slight scratch will cost £300 to be fixed by Lexus Newcastle. Also will get it serviced approx £170, then I will be selling the aftermarket alloys and the originals, to aid the purchase of some brand new ones. Hopefully we be viewing the car this weekend in London and all will be ok.
  10. I have found a IS 200 on Autotrader with the following as the description "2000 LEXUS IS 2.0 SE 4dr Auto Saloon, 28,500 miles, Metallic Charcoal, ABS, Air con, Alarm, 17"Alloy wheels + original 16" alloys & tyres, leather & suede cream int, heated seats, electric seats, cruise control, great conditon, tinted windows, low mileage. lady owner, 1 yr MOT, TAX, FSH. A head turner! Will consider sensible offers.Quick sale needed, hence new lower price!. £7,400. ono http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/www/cars_...kcarsearch_full There is some rust on the passenger wheel arch after a small scratch in a supermarket carpark, also the CD player doesn't work, but apart from that the lady say's it is in perfect order. She will also be fitting new pads all round before selling. She has mentioned it was imported from Singapore does this mean it is the Altezza? Please could someone tell me this sounds dodgy or is a bargin? Thanks John
  11. Thanks Rich & Chips for the links the 1st & 3rd on Autotrader have both been sold, will look at the other one. I am putting in various searches and willing to travel anywhere to get the right motor. I suppose waiting for the right car will be worth it in the end
  12. I am taking my time to find the right car, but boy is it hard work. I have 7.5k cash waiting for an IS200 Blue, Black or Grey with less than 50k on the clock FSH (2000/2001) Auto but nothing has appeared recently. Obviously the good ones will be sold quickly, anyone got any ideas where to search apart from -: Autotrader Ebay On LOC (of course) Pistonheads Fish Compucars Thanks in Advance John
  13. Cheers Daffy, I am considering a manual also if the right car comes along and it's a manual I will have no hesitations handing over the cash.
  14. Thanks guys I am understanding this now, and also for making us new comers feel welcome. :)
  15. ATM anything will be better than the MPG ive been getting (note: must remove lead weight from right foot) :) What's the difference between the Altezza and the non import?
  16. Hiya Fidgits, that's right I enquired about your car a few weeks ago. Still looks a fantastic example and in the colour I want, I am trying to look for a car with less than 40k on the clock ( I know I am being picky). I am surprised it's not sold yet I thought it would of been long gone. Good luck with the sale. John
  17. Cheers Chips, I sold the car cause the Fuel costs were extortionate the VR4 does an average of 16-19mpg, if you put your foot down it was low single figures. I was living most of the time at petrol stations, but then again it was emense fun to drive. Looking forward to hunting and owning and IS200 Cheers John
  18. I haven't driven one yet but will certainly try both versions before I commit, the main reason why I was swaying towards the Auto was for the wife (new driver). Do you have any pointers on where is best to source an IS200 from?
  19. Just like to say hello to you all at LOC, I am not quite a Lexus owner just yet but WILL be ASAP. I have just sold my Mitsubishi Galant VR4 (Evo's brother) which will be sadly missed that is until I can get my IS200, I have £7,500 cash waiting to buy the right car. So I am now on a serious hunt for a IS200 2000/2001 with 40k or less miles, with a FSH Auto if possible but would have the manual if the right car came along. I have seen a wealth of knowledge and information on here already that has pointed me in the right direction, so thank you. Look forward to being part of the fold very soon. John B)
