  1. why nervous?? u dont think toyota makes the parts themselves do you? the partsare farmed out, u will find the same places makes parts for the brand and also aftermarket but without the brand name - take the oil filters for instance toyota OEM and the trd filter - its exactly the same but in a different box and one is painted red.

for the pump i think it was a blue print part boxed item BTW

Most items from factors "are" copies,TRD you will probably find is owned by TMC.

Toyota would not allow any old company to use brand name ie "Toyota" Racing Development

A lot of factor parts are ******* quality, you get what you pay for "most" of the time

Yes some items are made for Toyota for their vehicles most commonly exhaust & friction parts (pads, clutches etc)

But then again you dont really know which they are especially when there are lots of friction material manufaturers

  2. Well I have to agree with 'The Transporter' on his valid points.

I run a Service dept at a Toyota Centre & have served my time on shop floor as an apprentice right through to Aftersales manager.

I get seriously ****** when ppl accuse my techs of damaging or causing faults which are later proved to be not related.

I just hope the "self fitting" of the throttle body does'nt become the cause of the problems as a loose throttle cables would not cause cutting out.

With regards to the wheel bearing issue, how do you test a wheel bearing properly on the floor with a jack, how can you load a bearing with it jacked up?

You'll be blaming the weathermen because the weathers bad next!!

Quote: People are clueless when it comes to something they know **** all about

I do agree that there are some garages out there who are undesirable BUT dont tar everyone with the same brush,we pride ourselves on customer service.

  3. Just bought myself (after many wasted journeys) a excellent example IS200 Sport in black with the styling kit & navigation and am well chuffed, but now i just want to add my mark on it.

Does anyone know if the lights are the same as mine or the HID ones,is it possible to fit the HID ones to mine.

Also the IS with style kit doesnt have the sport badge on the grille, does anyone know if these are available anywhere as my local Lexus dealer doesnt know

    what year is yours?

    A 52 plate

  5. http://www.pristinealloywheels.co.uk/

This is the company Toyota & Lexus use for refurbing wheels, they do do an excellent job but even they will tell you that the diamond cut rims are inherant to corrosion,if getting some done its best to get them done in a plain colour as they do come back when diamond cut.

They even lathe out kerbing etc off your rims & make them look like new, finish is usually perfect.
