  1. Very nice mate. I still feel the same about my LS430 as the day when I got it though. It's a right sod to keep clean though. Mines astral black with the grey leather interior. I need to take some classes in detailing me thinks.
  2. Lexus Woodford have treated my old GS300 and my LS430 like they were heart valves. Always cleaned and always came out in better condition than when they went in.
  3. If you really want to appreciate how good a Lexus is, then become a driving instructor. I spend all week in 1.2 litre Nissan Micra automatic. My week involves teaching people how to steer, reverse, anticipation and planning and generally making sure they don't kill myself or anyone else. Then today, a 60 mile round trip to Bluewater in Kent in my LS430, there just isn't a comparison. The fact that it can go up a hill without requiring more preasure on the gas (Sorry, accelerator) pedal is amazing. The fact it does 70mph at just under 2,000 rpm. The fact that is has aircon that cools you down rather than it being like an asthmatic blowing at you through a straw. The one drawback though, every time I get back in the Micra, I think it's broken.
  4. I'm on my second used Lexus now and I think with what could possibly go wrong with these cars, I shall only every purchase from Lexus dealers. The service has been fantastic.
  5. Like this one we saw onour first ring trip I bet the last words said by the guy driving that car were "Watch This!!!!!"
  6. I've had a go in an LS460 and as soon as I can afford it, divorce proceedings will be in the pipeline. To be honest though, appart from a few more gadgets, my LS430 didn't feel world's appart from the LS460. I still want one in astral black though.
  7. I have just put a pair of Michelin Piolot Sport tyres on the back of my LS430. It seems alot quieter on these tyres compared to the old Dunlops which were on before. I can't wait to get the front ones changed to Michelin Piolot Sports. I also had the Michelin's on my old GS300. They offer so much more grip and are loads quieter than Dunlop's or Bridgestone's. The only problem about the Michelin tyres is that they were £180 each. Worth it though in my opinion.
  8. I can assure you, they don't shrink in the rain. They are just as hard to park after a good rain storm as if they have been in the sun for weeks.
  9. I had one from a nice person called Mr Ababgwengo. I'm still waiting for my share of his 36 million Uganden dollers.
  10. I must admit, astral black is a bit of a pig to keep clean. My LS is exactly the same. I take mine to the local hand car wash place for the full works inside and out and when I get home, I break out the Autoglym and give it a good going-over. Has almost got rid of the scratches now.
  11. Nice one. That explains why every 60,000 or 6 years, you get a big bill from Lexus.
  12. My money will forever be going on Michelin Piolot Sport tyres. I had two put on the front of my old GS300 and they were awsome. Good in wet, road noise seriously reduced etc. Just had a pair put on the back of my LS430. The back of the car seems quiet so I can't wait for the horrible Dunlops to wear out on the front so I can replace them.
  13. Excuse me for asking somthing which might be obvious to everyone but, I thought that Lexus now used iridium tipped spark plugs. Also, what is the difference between platinum tipped and iridium tipped spark plugs? Sorry if this is a daft question.
  14. Yes. Your Sat Nav system is DVD based and if it is the original disc supplied with the car when new, is going to be very out of date. Shop around at different Lexus dealers to get the best price. Also, when putting in your new map DVD, it will spend some time updating itself which gives you more features. Make sure you get yourself the correct one for your car though as I was stung trying to buy a disc cheaply on Ebay. Better to spend a bit more and have it work first time.
  15. Well done on your purchase. I've had mine for almost a year and still love it the same as the day I picked it up.
  16. I am of the opinion that the price of my LS430 might be dropping but the price of the LS460 I want to replace it with in a few years will also be dropping as well. I'm not worried at all.
  17. Wow. Must be a real horse race for employee of the week at your place.
  18. I always thought it was illegal to have run falt tyres fitted if you didn't have tyre preasure sensors fitted. Correct me if I'm wrong though. I also noticed that Holts are now advertising these new tyre inflation can's which you can use in the event of a puncture. Is it true that once used, the punctured tyre can't be repaired? Sorry for going off topic. Where can I be sent for my 100 lashes?
  19. Would that just plop straight into my LS430?
  20. Imagine how much it puts out when it is cold and doing all those really short journeys to the shops which are less than walking distance.I am just trying to wind up the green party. P.S. Anyone need anything from the shops, I'm just on my one minute drive out?
  21. Bently Flying Spur for me. Only because I really go for it when my skirt is above knee height. Can we also keep this as my little secret please?
  22. That is what happend when I got my LS430 from Lexus. The previous owner had lost the master key but the bill I saw for replacement of ECU and keys etc was almost £3000. So what ever you do, don't loose your master keys.
  23. Sod the boot space and go for the 450h. Then you can scare the whatsits out of most 911 owners.
