  1. Hi everyone,

I’ve recently removed the upgrades I had in my 2016 IS200T as I have sold the car - performance air intake, turbo muffler delete and Android Auto/CarPlay upgrade. For me these upgrades made the car much more liveable day to day.

Not sure whether I’m allowed to list these items here (or not) or say where I have listed them, if anyone’s interested please let me know.

Apologies if this is against forum rules…I wasn’t sure.

I will miss the IS, it was great fun and really comfortable. Thanks for the tips and tricks on the forum over the years.

    Simon

  2. Hi, I have the same car. The symbol you describe means the engine stop/start function has been temporarily deactivated due to insufficient Battery charge. Once the Battery is fully charged the normal stop/start function will resume. I had this after leaving the car for approx. 3 weeks while I was on holiday. After around 200 miles or so the system returned to normal function, presumably it figured out the Battery was no sufficiently charged.

    Hope that helps

  3. Yes I have...almost.

I only use Android auto, but I believe the unit I fitted also works with apple carplay but I have no apple kit to test this (which is why I say "almost" above).

The car is a 2016 IS Premier with the ML system. The sound quality is as good as it ever was. You can easily switch between the Lexus systems and the new AA/Carplay systems.

The only thing I have found not to work is when using Spotify the next track/previous track buttons on the head unit don't work, but the ones on the steering wheel and the ones on the screen (via the joystick) work fine, so I'm happy with this.

I didn't go for the larger screen version as the large screen version I found was for a touch screen, and I can't reach the screen in my IS when I'm driving - you may sit closer to the screen than me as I'm over 6ft tall! Plus the large screen version was more than double the price

It was quite easy to fit following the instructions provided with the kit, plus the vendor is really helpful if you get stuck

I ordered my system from Icebox auto and (from memory) it was around £300, and I'm very happy with it. I use Waze and Spotify mainly

Hope that helps and good luck

  4. I just updated my audio to allow Android Auto and Carplay. I bought a "magic box" from Iceboxauto and fitted it myself.  It works a treat, gives full Android Auto functionality (I don't have apple kit, so can't comment on that) and allows the Lexus system to function as before. The folk at Icebox were incredibly helpful with both purchasing and installation questions. 2016 IS Premier with Mark Levinson, Sat Nav and rear camera. Hope that gives you some ideas.

    Good luck

  5. The 21 alloys are a total nightmare to get repaired/refinished. I bought my car from a Lexus dealer who eventually gave up trying to get the wheel repaired before i would accept the car, and just replaced the wheel with a new one. I think I remember there was someone on here who found a company in Milton Keynes that could do the refurb, but I don't have more details than that. Sorry, and good luck with the car search.

  6. Hmmm,  That hasn't worked out so well. The supplier has asked me to provide a paper template of the mats so they can make them. I was hoping to simply get a set of new rubber mats arrive in the post a few days after placing the order. If only things could be that simple!

  7. Hi

I'm looking for some floor mats for my LC coupe, and I want rubber ones for the winter. Lexus only appear to stock carpet floor mats, the same as I already have. Online I can only find rubber mats from the USA...for LH drive vehicles. Has anyone here managed to buy rubber mats for their LC?

    Cheers

    Simon

  8. Hi guys, not much to add in the way of photos that haven't been posted already, other than to say welcome to our 6 cylinder friend that joined in the afternoon - perhaps a Lexus group (all models) could be on the cards next year?

It was a fun day, great to meet fellow F owners and see the exotic machinery across the whole site - I hadn't realised there are so many Civic Type Rs in the country!

  9. Hi Guys

I have posted a copy of the pass required to access the parking area reserved for F cars. They ask for this to be displayed in your windscreen. I have also copied below the general instructions issued with the pass.

Looking forward to meeting up at the Rownams Service area and seeing loads of F's!

Please find attached your club label for Simply Japanese 2019 – please can this be distributed amongst your club members prior to the event. Please ensure that they print this label and display it in their windscreen upon entry to the event, this ensures that all members wishing to park within your club area are directed to the correct parking location by our stewards.

Clubs are also encouraged to arrive at the same time in order to allow our stewards to park your members faster. We do have a car club meeting area out in our visitor car parks as well.

Entry is from 08.30am at both the Main entrance and Additional entrance. Please note that club spaces are only reserved until 10.00am - if you arrive after 10.00am the space will be allocated to drive-in participants as there will be a high volume of cars entering the site for the event.

Our Additional Entrance off the B3054 will be signed as “Simply Japanese Additional Entrance” and will be open from 8.30am-11.00am only and operate as a club and general entrance. If you arrive at this entrance before 8.30am or after 11.00am you will be directed round to the main entrance as there is nowhere to wait here.

Satnavs can be a little iffy when getting to Beaulieu so we recommend following the blue event signs on the roads when in the vicinity as these will direct you to Beaulieu via the best route.

    Tickets

All participants in display vehicles need to purchase a ticket per person. You can do so online at www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/simply-japanese or by calling the office on 01590 614614 (a £1 postal fee applies to phone orders).

Tickets are £10 per adult and £5 per child when arriving in a Japanese vehicle, up until 5pm on Thursday 25th July, after which the ticket price increases to the standard/on the day rate.
