please can some one tell me where exactly is this on the transmission box and what does it look like i have spent this afternoon looking for it and i cant see it.any description or even pic would be superb i need to replace this as this is giving me code 67. i am taking it of another ls400 which is a 1991 and mine is a 1992.please please can some one help me thanks

can i take a 1991 door mirror drivers side on to a 1995 ls 400 again drivers side or maybe mod it up to make it fit as i cannot find a 1995 door mirror anywhere or they are just charging way too much.the 1991 mirror is the slim long mirrors,the 1995 door mirror is the big fat mirror but the drivers side is completley broken any ideas?? much appreciated!!!!

hi i cant understand it either as it is very hard to describe when i am reving about 2000rpm in drive the revs drop about 3 or 400 revs and at that point you can feel the gear box sort of jolting and losing slight lack of power then the revs shoot back up to where it was previosly.i have done the diagnostic again and still reading code 67 and 68, i am at loss with this any ideas???

hi spoke too soon,the problem is back after disconnecting the battery, didnt do anything for nearly 2 days but then i wasnt driving a few miles,went out in lexus today and the problem was back.i have read that i should have never mixed the type 4 atf with the old oil as it can damage the solenoids and the direct clutch speed sensor.the only possible way that i might be able to sort it out is to do a complete flush out of the tranny oil and replace with fresh new type 4 atf. and possibly replace the sensor for the clutch speed sensor.do you think this will rectify it?? advice is much appreciated!! thanks

Yea i agree ,hid are way better than the standard halogen bulbs, they are so much brighter and more important than anything a lot safer at night time on motorways etc... i got mu hid kit for £35 on ebay and took me about 40 mins or so to do them and my god i was very very pleased with them get HID they are worth it and look so much better on a lexus ls400 hope this helps

hi i have put in toyota type 4 fluid in, i have drain the oil to the correct level now but still does the jolt.so i did a dianogstic on it and the tranmissopn came up with codes 67 & 68 which is od direct clutch speed signal malfunction short circuit in kick down switch this only started after i did the transmission oil change,before it ran superb.i am wondering whether to try and disconnect the battery for 15 miis to reset the ecu.hoping that will cure it other from that i am out of ideas

hi pete, thanks for getting back to me.according to my book i had to refill exactly 1.9 litres of atf,which i did when the engine is cold and i check the dipstick both cold and hot are covered in oil.not checked yet when hot.but before i did the change of oil the tranny box was ecellent, could you be so kind to give me more info into the photocromatic rear view mirror thanks

hi i have a lexus ls400 1992,i have a standard rear view mirror and would like to upgrade to the electronic rear view mirror.can this be done as i have looked and cant seem to find the wiring for it. the other problem i have is i have drained and refill the transmission fluid with toyota type 4 fluid.i only did the drain and refill not the complete flush out.the thing is since then, every now and then wherether its hot or cold or in neutral or drive the car jolts as if you have stalled it this is the only way i can describe it.when it is in drive and doing any speed i can feel the car sort of jerk or jolt and the rev drop a little then back up.if in neutral and my foot is on the brake the car does the same thing again its like you have brought the clutch up fast and stalled it.i hope you understand how i am trying to describe it to you.before i did the oil change this was spot on,please please can you help as i take my kids to school and i want some advice on how to sort this out quickly thanks

hi thats great to hear about that.the only problem is i live in lancashire and i dont trust my lexus enough to travel all the way to south as i wouldnt feel safe at all. is there any other alternative to another mechanic etc...... thanks

Assuming the coils and dampers are fit, then i question the Geometry? Can you display the report here or email it to me. hi,the geometry was done by national tyres as i couldnt afford to have it done at lexus dealers. Well that's ok but did they give you a Geometry printout? yes, all it said on the printout was tyres laser tracked and balanced.that was it.a bloody rip of really for £50 as i asked them for a full geometry and that was it it, naff really

over the last few months my ls400 has started to veer badly and violently sometimes i have had a full geometry done and tyres are all good with plenty of tread on them.it is very hard to describe this, its like the car is on ice and the back and front wants to skid off in different direction.very hard to explain this, but i can tell you i dont feel safe driving this and i would never accept to take it up more than 75mph as it is too scary to drive.the year of my car is a 1994. hope someone can help me on this i my car is off the road till this is fixed thanks simon

hi, the key fob for the lexus is the one button but i have found out it doesnt work any more even with new battery. so i have decided to get a complete new alarm

i am thinking of buying a alarm for my lexus as the key fob on mine doesnt work.i am looking to get viper 480xv alarm.but i am having difficulty in getting someone to wire one up for me as most shops want me to buy it from their shops and charging silly prices like £350.is there anyone who can direct or even help me wire one up.i live in preston,lancashire.any recomendations please would be greatly appreciated. cheers simon

hi, i have a 1994 ls400 and my key is a one button fob.the problem is it doent work.i hav changed the batter for the key 3 times all brand new batteries.i have even checked to see if the ROM chip has come out but it hasnt.i have put in a new car battery.i have inserted the key into the unit which is located in the boot and uplugged the aerial and inserted the key and pressed the button but nothing again.i even tried the programming of the key and again nothing but there was someting that worked it was a series of locking the door and unlocking the door ten times then press the one button key and the locks cycled and beeped i think 6 times.so i dont know what that means.i locked my car with the window down by the key in door and i opened it from the inside of the door and the alarm went off,so i know the alarm works.i have checked the button for the remote is switched on. please can someone please help me how i can get it to work again.i know the key fob battery is working ok as it worked when i pressed it during the diagnostic.but cant look at the climate control display as it doesnt work due to it being black.please please can someone help thanks simon

does anyone know where i can buy a complete car aerial as mine isnt working and the plastic surrounding the motor is cracked.rang lexus dealers up they said it is £220 +vat and it has to be genuine which i find hard to believe. thanks simon
