  1. So what of miles per gallon am i looking at on the RS and AS please?

only have my RS200 a week or so, did my first mpg calculation last night after a fill up: 20mpg on a mixture of back roads, city, and late night 'spirited' motorway driving. on crappy 95 octane petrol

How does that stand up? filled with Shell V Power last night will see if that makes a difference.

Whatever just buy one, its a small price to pay for such a cracking car! :)

  2. :offtopic: Just out of interest how much did the service cost? Was it a dealer who did it?

It cost me €1200 including all belts, fluids brakes

:yawn::crybaby: was that in a Lexus dealer?

better start saving the cents so, mine needs a timing belt and i was going to get the fluids changed as well

  3. Hey guys, I'm looking at organising a rolling road day for all the Irish boys...

Venue will be Westward Engineering in Enfield, Meath. Will probably be on a Saturday in late January/early February... Prices depend on numbers, think it's usually €60 each but if there's a group of 10 or more it goes down to €50, will find out for definate tho...

How many would be interested & what date's would best suit? May encorporate a meet too just for the craic :winky:

I've got college the weekends of 27-28 January and 17-18 February, any weekend apart from that and i'm there :)

  4. :offtopic: Lets try and get all the Irish members here out for this so we can have a bit of a meet too. I know its a lot to organise but dont think there has been an irish LOC meet, Not since i joined anyway! And you get to find out what your car is actually kickin out. I've a strong feeling we will all be very surprised!! :o

Count me in anyway, mine is supposed to be chipped i'd like to find out what she's pushing out

  5. Have a RS200 Z for about 2 weeks now. Dropped her into a mechanic for a major service on Thursday. All belts and fluids done.

He picked up a couple of things:

There is a hole in the centre section of the exhaust.

There is a flat spot on initial acceleration which he thinks may be the throttle positioning sensor.

Do kwit-fit do a center section and how much do you reckon? If the dont how much will a new exhaust cost me? Where would I source an exhaust in Ireland?

Do you think the hole in the exhaust is responsible for the throttle response?

    All help appreciated

I only got my car the weekend but i did notice a bit of a flat spot on acceleration as well.

  6. Very nice... :D

Be sure to feed it premium.... ;)

    Where can i get it?!

    I'm in waterford.

She's been poached out of England heh heh... :P :shutit:

Lovely jubly. I love that bumper i want it so badly. Cant find one anywhere. I'll swap ya for a standard Lexus one eh?

I use Shell V Power, probably the best available over here

Does the V Power make much difference? Are any of the octane boosters worthwhile?

I'll hold onto the bumper thanks! :winky:

Wuhoo I got that RS200 after anyway, picked it up at the weekend in the UK. I can see what the fuss is about they're a cracking car.

It turned out better than described, perfect mechanically, surprisingly comfortable and quiet with the 19s and elastic band tyres, immaculate inside...

Got a few hundred quids woth of bits and pieces as well thrown in: fascia adaptor for the radio, adaptor leads for the amp, Lexus Sport Grill, front and rear strut braces, caliper paint kit, altezza badges, English manual, bundle of receipts....

    What ye reckon folks?

    :) :D

  8. Welcome to LOC.... :)

I'd be more interested on it's life since it arrived in the UK, regularly serviced? receipts?

Standard RS200 manual has 210 BHP when run on premium ( 100ron in Japan).... so if it was "chipped" then it has a piggy back controller that was probably also set for premium......

    Band expander ain't great.....

Otherwise they are a great car and loads and loads of fun...

also worth waiting for a good one ... ie not thrashed as most are driven hard...

Its got a full Japanese and UK Service history which is rare i'd imagine?

A lexus dealer in the UK brought it in with 35000 miles and there was 1 previous owner to this guy since, whom he gave me a contact address from the V5.

Bodywork and interior appear very clean and he assures me it was never crashed.

Oh and £600 green stuff discs and pads went all round last month

Would 19" wheels adversely affect the ride? They are multispoke chrome jobs which to me seem a bit expensive and hard to mind for someone hacking a car around.

Would 95 octane adversely affect the engine then bearing in mind its been chipped? How do the standard rs200s behave on 95 fuel?

  9. Hi lads i'm new to the site not an owner yet but possibly by the weekend if i like what i see...

The one i'm going to look at is a late 1998 RS200 Z Edition,

Chipped supposedly to 225bhp in Japan

    Manual gearbox

    TRD Xenon lights

    TRD front bumper

    19" wheels

    75k miles

imported in 2003 to UK as grade 5

    Standard ICE with band expander

    Navy blue

He's looking for £5,800 sterling does this seem a bit cheap?

What should i be looking out for apart from the usual mechanical stuff lads?

    Cheers
