Hi I have the last edition IS200 sport with all the extras and the gearbox in that is rubbish. Im also currently in dispute with both the dealer and Lexus GB who both are not overlly helpful. The best thing about the whole situation is they know all about these issues but fail to tell you, the customer until after you buy the car. For a car of that value and to be honest you could have bought an Audi, BMW, Saab, Merc to be told its the way they are is far from, acceptable. All I was told is its the way you drive and that its no worse than any other makes gearbox, I think not as ive owned most of the above and had no problems at all with the gearboxes, grinding, knocking, jumping in and out of gear etc. Let me know how you get on.

Hi I would go back to Lexus as they were replacing the head units even after the warranty had expired< good will hey, I aint had much though so far!!! You could replace easily as long as you can buy a fascia to fill the missing space around the unit. Ive fitted new head uints, amps etc to most of my cars and none have caused an issue yet.

Ive got a IS200 SE NAV the very last edition model with all the extras, it came with so many extras including a thumpy sounding gearbox, or is it the gearbox? Ive been told its not the gearbox as ive so far had the sleeves and synchro replace and had the car driven by Lexus GB head engineer who told me its the rear diff knocking against its mounting, which is caused by my driving style, which also includes all my friends and family who have the same problem. with it. Im currently taking action against my dealership as the customer service is so bad it makes you sick. As a solution though they did suggest I trade the car in for £12k when I bought it for £17k 5 months earlier, ~I dont think so!!!. If anyone can give me information on this issue or know a solution then I would love to hear from you. :tsktsk:
