Hi there, I have got the same problem as you guys, engine management light on and trc light flashing.

When I was driving on the motorway a few days ago, the engine sounded really rough and when I put it to neutral to pull off on slip road, the engine cut out. I started it back up and still rough, barely revving and I think misfiring. I drove for about a mile like this, to a garage near my work. The engine cut out when revs dropped below 1k. They had a quick look and said engine has overheated due to no water ( no warning lights for this ).

I haven't tried to move it since, it's hard to get started and sounds really rough. I'm getting a diagnostics run today or Monday. Any ideas? I very worried I'll need a new engine.

O, Car is IS 200 Sport '05, 128k miles. Had from new, no major issues to now.

I was driving my 2000 se today and the engine management light came on followed by the flashing trc. I drove about 5 miles trying to get back home and car died on me while making a 3 point turn and had to get recovered.

Car has been fine up until now and was last serviced in December.

took car into garage, turns out it was a snapped drop-link. £60 to fix, braced myself for the worst so kinda happy with that.

got an is200se x reg done 71k.

recently just started hearing a knocking noise coming from the front drivers side. it's more noticable when going downhill.

was thinking maybe ball joints but maybe somebody on here has had the same problem and knows what it may be before i put it in a garage and know how serious it is and how much roughly to fix?

Hey folks.

Just realised that both headlights are out(the main ones, closest to grille). pulled out the bulbs to inspect them and they look ok, fuses seem ok too.

Any ideas?

Like any rear wheel drive car extra care needs to be taken at this time of year glad your ok and no damage to you car was done.

think this thread deserves a bump.

if only i'd read this yesterday it may have prevented me sliding a 180 onto the other side of the road early this morning. luckilly no cars were coming the other way. very scary experience!

is200SE. had a slow puncture i think and tyre tread has came down to virtually zilch on the outside.

only need 1 tyre for MOT next week. would a tyre with a 'v' speed rating be ok since it's up to 150mph?

Can you hear any motor noise when you press the switch......window may have just come off the rails.

nope, no noise at all mate

Blown fuse?

I believe each window has its own but i may be wrong.

front passenger electric window's not working. took the panels off the other day to fit a new door handle. fitted the plugs back in but getting nothin.

any ideas?

First thing i checked mate!!

figures out it's door handle that's knackered. a wee bit's broke off that holds the plastic piece!

anybody know where i can get a new one cheap??

hey folks, got a new problem that's just developed.

my passenger door won't open from the outside and have to use the handle inside to open it.

i've took the door panel off to investigate and a plastic conneting type piece fell out. i'm presuming this joins the rod to the handle in some way?

would it be easy to get a hold of one of these parts? got the car booked into lexus on friday but would rather do it myself than pay through the nose.
