does any1 know where the torque converter is on the gearbox ? is it in the bell housing or in the actual gearbox ? does it need changing ? please help thanks pete

I can't believe it is broke, don't think there has ever been a Lexus gearbox that has failed, I could be wrong...........Take it to a garage and change the gearbox oil. What's the mileage, has it been changed before? its a 96 plate with 146k on the clock i don't know whether its been changed before but i shall give your suggestion of changing the oil a try i have just checked the dipper and it doesn't appear to have any oil left in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! where did it all go??/??

thanks for your replies i've checked the dipstick (i never noticed it before) it looked pretty dry and very low how / where can you fill it up ? thanks pete

i've had a burning smell coming in the cab from what i thought was the exhaust (had it changed), then relised it was the gearbox, booked in to have the tranny oil changed along with the cambelt.......... then low and behold it wont engage in gear (slipped a bit just before) any suggestions on how to check the tranny oil ? whats happened? where to start to getting it fixed /cost? all help very appreciated thanks pete

does any body know the sizes and offsets of the 18 inch sport wheels? could you fit spacers to the hubs for an ultra wide stance? thanks pete

i have that problem too and its so ANOYING i'm missing chunks of hair which icant afford to lose mine has a really anoying fuzz aswell which sounds like a loose connection but only happens on cd let me know how you get on before i get any balder thanks pete

nise motor buy the way how did you get those wheels so polished by the way1 back to the speakers though , everything seems connected ,but there is no sound comin from the passenger side door tweeters or mids i'm thinkin there's gotta be a brake in the wire some where . what do you think? thanks for the reply pete

well carefully taken the door card off and everything seems intact , checked the amp that seems ok 2 now im really puzzled would check the head unit if i knew how to get it out any help would be happily recieved

it seems to have a relay which i swapped around which made no differance the air con light on the dash flashes which after reading the manual implys it a trip to my local lexus dealer who is gonna tell me its ****** thanks for the help though i'll have to scout around and see if i can find a new 1

1 hot and bovered lexus owner later ...... does any body have some insight into the gs300 climate control ? its not pumping out cold air AARRGGHHHHH just had it regased and there's no leaks ! the compreser dosn't seem to spin due to it apparantly not having a live feed ! any help would be greatly appriciated ! thanks pete
