Well ive changed ALL 4 discs... one caliper... pads... balancing... and STILL have the problem... so it aint my discs and for sure theres no caliper sticking... :crybaby:

    check tracking rods

    Stupid question coming...

What am I checking for... or how do I check?? sorry ... not a car wizz...

jack the front of the car up grab the front wheel(hands at quarter to three) and shake it from side to side and see if their is any play.if the car has suffered from a sized caliper and the disk has got really really hot the hub could be warper(it 's a problem i see on some supras)i work for toyota.just a thought.

    Thanks for that...

Well i have changed all 4 discs and pads,.. and still have the problem... and like Flexus... Im not gettin it all the time... only at certain speeds... heres hoping a dont have to go through too many expenses as a method of elimination...

  4. HI GUYS (AND GIRLS) FIRST TIME SO HOPE ITS RIGHT.

GOT A PROBLEM WITH MY IS200 SPORT(2000 X) WHICH HAS BEEN NO PROBLEM FOR 4YEARS UNTILL NOW.

WHEN DRIVING THERE IS VIBRATION COMING THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL.

BELOW 50MPH IT IS OK AND ONLY NOTICEABLE BETWEEN SPEEDS 50-70MPH AND WHEN BRAKING BETWEEN THE SAME SPEED.

THE WIERD THING IS SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT DO IT AT ALL ,OR IT CAN HAPPEN AT SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT SPEEDS.

I HAVE HAD THE WHEELS BALANCED BY TWO PLACES AND BOTH SAID THERE OK.

I HAVE SWAPPED WHEELS WITH A MATES 04 MODEL AND HIS CAR RAN SMOOTH WITH MY WHEELS,WHILE MINE VIBRATED WITH HIS ON ESPECIALLY UNDER BRAKING BETEEN 50-60MPH.

THE CALIPERS DONT APPEAR TO BE STICKING AND I CANT SEE IT BEING THE DISK WHICH ARE ONLY A YEAR OLD PLUS IT VIBRATES WHILE JUST DRIVING ALONG BETWEEN 50-70MPH

COULB IT BE BALL JOINTS??ANYBODY ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND HAS A DEFFO ANSWER.

I JUST WANT TO GET BACK TO ENJOYING DRIVING MY SMOOTH CAR AGAIN.

    HELP!!!!

    Hi,

And welcome... Ive not been messaging here long... but im really hoping someone replies as Ive developed the same problem... Had the discs and pads changed.. wheels balanced... brakes all flushed and calipers checked... and still vibration.... and its strange.. as sometimes it doesnt vibrate at all....I find it vibrate most under brkaing and again at certain speeds... Sorry I cant be helpful.. although Im certain I did read a post where im sure someone said they had vibration through the steering due to ball joints..

Hope someone can give a more definite answer...

  5. As far as I (and everyone else?) was aware, Autoleads DO NOT make an AMP bypass lead (they have always done one fro the non amped S model system). Unless this is very new. A couple of guys on ebay just make them up especially.

brice1ie has had issues here that most don't. Usually it just plugs into your new HU and into the stock amp (thou often tricky to access), and works!

If you are running a full system with external amps (full range, with aftermarket speakers, not just sub) then you only need the lead for the power connections, which can be achieved another way if you know how.

    haha... so ive seen...

But it had the same harness number that most talked about on here... PC... blah blah... i cant remember it now... but it was the exact number talked about on here for an x reg and it said lexus is200 amp bypass harness on the box... so.... it was a straight connection... they had just wired the ACC incorrectly..

But in saying if you can find one thats a guarrantee plug and play... BUY IT...

I did contact them about the harness error... they claimed that it was never an issue before... :whistling:

  6. ahh right lol. thats much clearer now. just out of interest tho, who makes the leads? cheers mate

The lead I got for my sport model was from Autoleads...

Though a point to remember should you get one similar to mine... they have installed 2 wires in the harness, labeled and coloured as "memory".... They are crimped into the same crimp at the radio end of the autoleads harness, but in separate crimps at the amp end of the harness... which doesnt make sense...

Having been given a link to wiring diagrams from here (thanks again Aztecbandit!)... I saw that one of the so called "memory" wires in the harness, which connects to a grey wire from the amp connector on the car, is actually the ACC... so its necessary to cut this wire out at the car amp connector end of the autoleads harness and crimp the grey wire from the cars amp connector separately with the ACC wire from the radio harness which you recieve with your radio...

Otherwise you'll be waking up to a flat Battery like me as the power from the genuine memory wire returns up through the incorrectly connected ACC on the Autoleads harness, into the ACC and powers a load of systems on the car....

I hope it doesnt sound too confusing but I think if you have the Autoleads harness to hand and look at the cars amp connector, it will make sense. :whistling:

    Appologies if it does...

  7. sounds good mate, make sure u have dyno before and after though. keep the critics quiet that way. lol.

Well to be honest doubt it will be dyno´d before being s/c as ill be driving over from France directly to Steve.... but i mean its standard... and although every engine might be slighty different in how it performs.. i honestly cant see a major dispute to the performance (or lack of... but hoping NOT the case) being down to the engine. But im new to this so maybe im way off the mark! :whistling:

  8. Maybe you shudda bought the lead from E-Bay me thinks :winky:

Glad you found a solution fella :D & fingers crossed no flat battery in the morning.

BTW call your harness supplier and tell them the issue (so future buyers don't get caught like you have)

    [/quote

Wasnt flat... thankfully.. its a good headunit.. though does get abit of abuse in reviews... but im in france and am finding it flawless.. great screen, good sound with standard speakers, accurate traffic reports, speed cameras, etc...

Back to the lead.. did contact them... but they didnt seem to have any interest... said it had never been a problem before and it was probably my car that was different.. I stated that it makes no sense that my cars different as I got the info to rectify the situation from a LEXUS wiring diagram... Said he´d look into it... doubt it though....can only try.

    Thanks all!

  9. Hi all....

Well my car goes to Steve on the 10th november for the Lysholm supercharger install......

Will post pictures and all the data possible for the project...... High hopes!!

Along with the s/c will be fitting.....

    TTE coilovers

    Prolex manifold

    HKS silent high power

    TTE intercooler

Might just see you mate, as the 10th is one of my days off :D unless thay wanting me to work overtime :duh:

Cool....well guess ill be seeing you there then!

Yeah, pretty sure it is that intercooler... we´ll see what it comes out like with the TTE.... afterall... it is just the start! :winky:

  10. Dont know if this will help you in anyway mate CLICK ME!! It has the wiring diagrams on it and lots of other info for the car? click on "OVERALL ELECTRICAL WIRING DIAGRAM [RHD]" and the stereo wiring is there?

Thanks alot for the diagrams... Its a grey cable from the original amp connector that is the ACC on the 8 speakers sports model.. The harness i got had the acc and the memory joined together at the radio end... so i just cut what i hoped was the acc and connected it to the radio harness´s acc and hey presto.... it worked... with no other systems powered with the key removed...

    Thanks again...

I hope i dont wake up to a flat Battery though!!

    :whistling:

  11. Have you tried removing the amp harness to see if its that whats causing the problem?

Yeah, when i remove the new harness from the original amp connector... the problem is gone... anyone know what colour wire is the memory wire (constant power) on the original connector to the amp.. and if there should be 2wires used for memory?

  12. Does the radio turn off with the car or do you have to push the button to turn it on and off when you get in/out?

    Stav

There is no button to turn the unit on and off.... thanks to the brains behind the makers.... but no... it turns off with the ignition... the harness for the amp had no ACC cable in it... so when i called the place i bought all from they told me to connect to a system which turns off with the ignition so i connected the ACC wire to the air con.... (both 10amps) however... even with the ACC wire disconnected from the a/c the mirrors are stil live so its to do with the aftermarket harness for the amp... (i think)...Why is there 2 wires live all the time from the original loom which goes to the amp??

  13. Is the Head Unit retaining the Radio Memory for the Presets ?

Where did you get the harness from ?

Normally a Head Unit will have a permanent live (smaller fuse) to run the Head Unit's Memory

and an ignition live to provide the main power (larger fuse).

These shouldn't really be joined together, or left un-fused.

The harness is from caraudiosecurity. The ACC is separate, and the unit does hold the memory. But seems to be keeping other systems powered... Is there any other connectors I should have disconnected from the amp, or just the large one that I join to the aftermarket harness??

  14. The bypass harness required by the 'SE' & 'Sport' medels is not to my knowledge manufactured by Autoleads.

Do you mean ISO harness by any chance ?

Have you tried disconnecting the Radio to confirm the Mirrors are affected by the Head Unit ?

The Head Unit may also cause this problem, so you need to isolate it. Are there any external amps

in your car or are you connected to the OE Lexus Amp benhind the glovebox ?

Well when I bought the headunit I also bought a harness which i connected the connector from the back of the OE amp... and since then the Battery has been draining... the mirrors never worked without the key, before i installed the radio... On the harness theres 2 separate wires (yellow) for the memory on the end which connects to the amp harness.. They are then crimped together and go into the radio connector on one crimp... (yellow)... is that normal?? The radio has no power without ACC so i am totally confused as to why the mirrors have power.... and the Battery draining.. I have no amps connected... just the headunit.

  15. Thanks Wozza. Now i will have to make my mind whether I fix the standard headunit or go for something else :)

The cost of replacing it all adds up once I consider cost of adaptor leads and fascia on top of the headunit, but it does mean I can have a better headinit and not have to worry about Grom adaptors, plus get DVD playback and bluetooth for the mobile too. Decisions, decisions

Hey,.... wondering if anyone can help... Ive instlled the Pioneer F900 using the autoleads bypass harness, but now my electric mirrors are always powered... even without the key in the ignition... and its draining my Battery all the time....

Anyone any ideas why this is....

    Thanks..

  16. This does sound good 3.5k fitted might be up for some of that myself again a price on that plus the manifold exhaust and coilovers all fitted would be good

well I wouldnt go banking on that being the price for ALL including ALL fitted....

I never said it would hence asking for a price

awe ok... didnt quite get what you were saying.... well ive no genuine figure even as to what im payin yet.. as its not certain what will be included in the final build... trail and error to a point i guess

  17. No i bought an autoleads version.... but on a further inspection just realised... it doesnt have an ACC line in the harness.. If i swap the cables and put the ACC on the MEMORY wire.. works without a problem... but the brains at pioneer didnt put an OF switch on the headunit... which detroys that idea... how crazy is that.... anyone know what wire on the cars harness is the ACC so i can add a wire to the connector??

Also what the hell is a vehicle injection computer and where is it??

    Thanks.

  18. hi there,

Just got a new double din headunit... just finished making it all up.. but when i connected it... ZERO... nothing happened!! Have tried everything and still no joy... The harness they gave me is a PC2-93-4

It says Lexus amp harness..... 98-03

Is it the wrong harness, and if so does anyone have athe layout to de-pin it and repin to make it work??

    Thanks.

  19. Sorry... I didnt see your message.. YES thats exactly them... are they really originals?? I got the 5 spoke wheels... turned out to be refurbished and well buckled!! Was very disappointed.. So want others...

Yep, no problem. I bought some and they really do seem to be original, yes. They are in pretty much "as new" condition, at least the ones that I bought were. It seems these wheels were probably factory fitted and then were perhaps swapped at the dealers for some upgraded wheels before the car was sold (this is a guess, I don't know this for sure), because they don't look like they've been driven. The odd very small mark here and there but for the price they're a bargain :)

Beware that they don't come with centre caps, so you'll need to source those yourselves if you want some Lexus ones. I posted a thread on this in the "Wheels & Tyres" forum here when I was having trouble finding out the correct part number (which I did find eventually and is now posted up in there).

Are the ones from the 5spoke wheels nopt the same?? I have them

  20. Yeah ill post up progress, pictures if their possible and anything else anyone wants to know/have... Ive never driven a s/c´d IS200 before so its all kinda new to me... but hopefully only the start if what can be done...

    Time will tell.... :winky:

Looks like a job for me then, taking the pics i mean :o

    Wow, volunteering???

Im sorry but i dont know anyone on here so I dont know who does what, or how things are done, so all ideas and help much much much appreciated.....

  21. But im not admitting to it just yet... tryin to find me some of those 11 spoke alloys lexus did from 2004... (i think)

    Harder than i thought....

You mean like these and these ?

Sorry... I didnt see your message.. YES thats exactly them... are they really originals?? I got the 5 spoke wheels... turned out to be refurbished and well buckled!! Was very disappointed.. So want others...

    Will contact them... thanks again!
