  1. I'm looking for either a replacement switch cluster or the part number for my F Sport.

The cluster has the Auto Headlight switch and the tailgate release switch with the other 2 blanked off.

I have seen used replacements for Lithuania on yje usual auction site, but they have more switches,(HUD etc ) where mine is blank.

Can anyone let me know the part number for replacement, or will a used part with extra switches install and work out.

I somehow managed to crack the pushbutton and Lexus won't fix it under warranty.

    TIA.

Got the car back today and happy to report the boot is now fixed and working as normal. For some reason it sounds a bit louder than before, like robocop slowly moving his head to face you before uttering "at your service". Don't remember what his signature quote was. Sounds cooler than before so I don't mind. It's working again that's what's important. Croydon lexus was a dream to deal with. Always have been. Don't get me wrong they are still expensive but compared to the ideas and self diagnostics discussed here along with quotes of £1600+ I think it's a steal.

My F Sport rear door motor sounds different to my old SE-L motor, and more powerful. Bonus having the swipe badge opener.

  3. Well i finally caved in in trying to further diagnose my problem, pbd not working and audio system and cameras also not working. I took it to Lexus Crawley (Motorline) and left it with them for 3 days to inspect. I appears that I have had water ingress from under the rear top spoiler  which has taken out the motor, part being £700 plus vat and installation. The audio system has also suffered and needed replacing at £1700 plus vat and installation for an exchange unit. Bill was looking at around £4k so they have taken it in part exchange for an 18 plate F-Sport RX due to arrive for me mid week. Might have taken a hit by i'm getting on so g=havent the time and energy to fix myself unfortunately. will post photos when arrives,

  4. When did the 4RX begin its life? i have read the 3RX specs at top of this forum, does anyone have similar for 4RX.

If I have to trade in my 59 plate RX450H SE-L i am looking for something with same spec or better. I am not keen on an F Sport with a red interior but would appreciate the extra toys like HUD and Paddles, but wonder whether I would really use them.

I have seen the latest brochure from Lexus so understand the new toys available but not sure when the 12" touch screen was introduced, as am probably looking at a used 2017-18 vehicle.

Does your 17 have paddles and HuD and is screen touch ?

  5. I had to have my auxiliary Battery changed as it had died. Called he AA and they diagnosed a sick Battery. ignorer to get to the Battery I small Battery was attache to the positive and negative attachment points in the fuse book in the bonnet. this allowed to unlock the power tailgate to get access to the Battery. This was diagnosed as faulty. No 3rd party batteries were available so had to bite the bullet and get Lexus  Gatwick to fit a Lexus supplied one. This was fitted by them and cost £236.

I now have problems using the sound system (Mark Levinson) and the cursor control system for Sat Nav and setup etc. I have access to Techstream so checked and found A B15D0 fault MOST Communication Malfunction. Looking this up has pointed to amplifier failure, short in speaker wires.

i found an article that spoke about switching on the engine with the radio switched on and to fix it i should put the car on auxiliary without starting the engine then switch the radio off. This i tried, switching to auxiliary gave me my audio system and cursor control back. However when i turned the radio off followed by starting the car, I lost audio and cursor again.

I am guessing that replacing the Battery has upset something. MOST seems to use fibre optics to communicate. Does anyone have info on where these optics are and if could be affected by Battery replacement. I hate the idea of going back to Lexus and paying even more to fix something that they may have done.

    Any help is appreciated.

  6. I have had a similar water ingress to the same area. it also manifests itself as condensation on the inside of windscreen.

i have in the past baled it out with a Jami Oliver infuser thingy the wife has, a bit like a turkey baster, a tube with a rubber squeeze end.

I have now drilled a small hole to allow the water to escape.

Had my auxiliary Battery changed by Lexus yesterday and there was no mention of any water in that area.

  7. I went from an LS400 DHP to an RX450H and yes there is a difference in the feel of driving with the difference in the gearboxes.

I find that I don't get quite the throwback into the seat with the RX  as i did with the LS but again they are a different vehicle. As in an S class, you are going from a low sedan to a high SUV albeit a luxury one, where the ride and position is completely different. When I get in my son-in-laws E class or my sons Peugeot 508 it feels like I'm sitting in a go kart it is soo near the road.

I suggest you test drive one over a weekend and really use it where you will use it daily, that should help you make your mind up.

  8. I have had problems with DAB reception recently and have discovered that the copper strips from the antenna box on the front windscreen have severed.

I assume that this can be replaced, but does it have to be with a Lexus part or will a generic antenna work?

Does  anyone have  part number and/or price before I call Lexus and raise my blood pressure.  Any hints as to removal and replacement will also be appreciated.

  9. I travelled from Newcastle where I was working and living at the time, to Leicester in a hire car as my LS400 had been written off. Agreed to buy it and travelled back to pick it up the following weekend before returning to West Sussex. I put a £200.00 deposit on it to hold it and could have had it move from Leicester to Newcastle but decided against that as wanted to have chance to see other vehicles .I looked at an older RX350 but wasn't too impressed but did buy the first 450 I saw, after scouring the country for possible cars.

  10. The answer to my problem was that one of the front ride height sensor arms had snapped giving false reading to the system and preventing the front from maintaining a correct height.

As usual the rod is not a separate sold item, requiring a whole unit of sensor and rod to be fitted. Worth keeping an eye on these arms to ensure they don't seize and break as mine had.

Had advisory on rear sensor rods going similar way so will prepare myself by finding replacement rods before they also fail.
