  1. Hi all. Damn useful site - changed front discs with no real effort thanks to the step-by-step picture guide! OK, the problem. Common I guess, but what's the best way to fix the corroded bulb sockets on the back of the lamp body? Replacement I suppose but is there an alternative to going to a dealer? I'm too scared to ask the price there since I got stung for £14 for a bonnet clip and £80 quid for a new door mirror glass. What a rip off!
  2. You'll find the DVD player beside the spare wheel under the boot carpet floor. Mine's a 2002 IS200 SE Nav so not so different from yours. I'd love to get an up-to-date disc if there is one...but not for silly Lexus Dealer money! Suggestion: current owners who, like me, paid out the extra £2k for Navigator(ouch!) on the price should get them gratis I reckon!!
  3. Plenty of experts over the years on this subject! Yep, mine's doing the usual Eject/Load orange LED falshing but no action 2-step. Tried a thump on the side but that's probably now bounced the gears too far to sort it 'remotely'. Time for the tools I guess. Hope the "How to guides" are accurate chaps! Has anyone actually identified what bit goes wrong in the changer mechanism, and most importantly knows where to get the bit(s) to fix it? Surely if a human can make it another can fix it?? :D I've seen mention of broken cogs/worn sliders/etc all the above? Like many of you, I don't want to change the OEM kit for aftermarket stuff so I'd rather fix it if poss. With the number of duff units out there it sounds like a good market to be in - Lexus IS audio repair.
