  1. Check your fuse box for water, have you run cables through the bulkhead?

    hi there checked the fuses + wireing in the passenger footwell they have water beads on them could the water be coming in through the windscreen then running down the inside of the pillar ??? drivers side is bone dry so is the roof lining the back footwells and boot

    Mine came through the bulkhead on some cables, if you haven't brought any custom cables through from the engine then I would think about getting a reseal on your screen before you get some serious damage!

  2. Guys it might be a silly question ... my car had the windscreen replaced by one of the previous owners... dont ask me how long ago I have no clue.

    Let's say the new windscreen already has a small chip on it.

    Does this problem occur to the cars with Xenon lights as well or only the Halogen ones?

    Both types, although the issue is nothing to do with the lights themselves, it is down to water getting in the fusebox due to leaky screen.

    A chip wont do any damage, it's down to the window not being fitted right.

  3. Hi All,

    My friends is200 is misfiring when warm, so far he has replaced the spark plugs and the coil packs to no avail!

    However he said it started after he parked his car on a hill, by all accounts up to 4 cylinder stop. After he changed the spark plugs he said it was like a new car, until the next morning when it heated up and started again.

    Has anyone had any experience with this or have any pointers?

  4. update... Autospark has sorted it. Not sure how but there's no auto-lights any more.

    Hi Grantwils, i had the same issue with my car, the car leaked prior to my ownership however they got a sparky in who bypassed everything and the result was the loss of the Auto Lights.

    I seriously recommend you read my thread to make sure you haven't been left with the same dangerous bypass.

  5. Hi,

    So far I have changed the 2 front wheel bearings, and some other stuff and although it tightened up the steering it never solved the issue.

    The other day i had a 4 wheel alignment done, the 2 rear wheels where pointing to the right, so the car was been pushed to the side instead of straight forward.

    I also refurnished the rear callipers and for the first time in 4-5 weeks i have had no issues what so ever!

    Let me know how you get on though, points to check first are your wheels, jack them up and give them a spin, check the callipers and shake the wheel to ensure there is no play what-so-ever. then get your 4 point tracking done. the front will never be inline if the rear are out.

  6. Yeah this should be easy, there are only about 6 breaks!

    first thing you need to do is support the break for the back, some hard clear plastic would suffice.

    Once supported above and below the break, look at melting the ribbon cover slightly with a soldering iron so you bare the metal, then you have 2 choices you can either piggy back a cable or you can use liquid metal.

  7. Oh dear, it turns out the "pulling to one side while accelerating" was down to the tracking, however with the car perfectly in tune I took to the motorway got to 70 and promptly had to slow down again.

    I have noticed an ever so slight knocking sound coming from the N/S/R... looks to be my next port of call.

  8. Hey All,

    As some of you may have seen I have been having the strangest issue with my steering, however after spending £445 on 2 new front wheel bearings and ball joints the car is dead quiet but still doing it's own thing when every now and again.

    I took the girl out this morning for a test drive and found it is ridiculously sensitive when steering to the right and heavier when I turn Left! Literally if I move the wheel the car reacts instantly.

    Now given the crown in the road, the car should naturally be easier to turn to the left not the right because its like sending the car over the tiniest of bumps! :crybaby:

    I invested in a trolley jack, axle stands, wheel chocks and a wheeled trolley so i can get under nice an easy, does anyone have any recommendations on things I should be checking when I get under there.

  9. A quick update for everyone, I went to Devon for a weekend away with the family, 30 miles into the journey I moved into the slow lane and hit the groves that the trucks have worn into the road.

    The second I hit them the car started jumping from one grove to the other. I borrowed a friends car to gage the difference and my steering is so loose its unreal, It seems like I am permanently steering into the wind to go in a straight line.

  10. you are potentially putting yourself and other people at risk when you drive it.

    I agree, hence why i use the motorbike to get to work, at the moment the car is a liability and extremely dangerous, not just to me but anyone near the thing.

    Not as big as the emergency that you'll have when the car falls off those timbers....My next door neighbours 12 year old wont go under his car without proper support...

    Your 12 year old neighbour has a car?? :tomato:

    I assure you the only thing under that car was my arm. I like my head far too much for that!!! i picked up some axle stands for £12 this morning. B)

    The car is booked in for 10am on Monday, I will let you know what the outcome is.

    Thank you all for your comments, I seem to be having a mare with this car, I wish they wasn't so good or I would buy something newer.

  11. Ok people, a quick update for you, the nuts are fine by all accounts, the front wheels have more play than a Bangkok prostitute.

    however i wanted to test the theory on the power to the rear wheels.

    I turned off the traction control, locked the wheel, stuck the revs up and let it go... however it went... nor did the slip light come on.

    hmmmmm the saga continues, booked in on Saturday
