  1. Its a brand new car only 1200 miles on the clock now, its had ecu upgrade and driving conditions are mixed i'd say about 40% motorway and 60% urban
  2. Hi all Diesel owners, My Diesel is doing an average MPG of 31.6 Lexus as i'm sure you are aware claim their cars do 44.8 average MPG. I am now in a dispute with Lexus and i am asking for my money back, It would really help my case if all you Diesel owners could post a reply to this topic telling me what your average MPG is, so i can tell them that its all Diesels that are doing it and not just mine cause they keep telling me that it will get better with age but they wont say what it will get better to. Thanks ps i will let you all know how it goes and who knows maybe you can get some sort of compensation from your dealers??
  3. Yes! I've just bought a brand new Lexus, No! i didn't read the forums first (I won't do that again). Yes mine is the Diesel and Yes mine is pants on MPG i'm doing about 31.6mpg I've noticed that in the mornings on first start up mine will rev at 1200rpm and it will keep this up for about half an hour of the journey. This, i believe, is the reason for the high or its contributing to the high mpg as while i'm sat in the morning rush hour traffic, my car is reving at 1200rpm all the way to work. Once the engine is warm it stops doing it, and for the drivers who are over 35 (but under 40 :winky: ) its like the car has a choke??? Its been into Lexus who say that its normal? and that all their cars do it? and that they can't find a fault with the car or can explain to me why its so rubbish on mpg. They put the latest ecu programming in it but why it needs that i don't know cause its a 57 plate car? but anyway its still doing it and the mpg is still :tsktsk: So i'm looking for more amunition from you guys/girls so i can go back to my local dealer and say 'look cheese breath its not mormal' as i have spoken to everyone else and their cars don't do it. Think i'm kinda hoping its just mine but just in case its not i would be gratefull for your input. Thanks
