I know the satnav in my IS220D is designed to grey out certain functions when you are driving for safety reasons, but when you are crawling on the M25 and can't search for alternate routes it is intensely frustrating! this must surely be just a software issue, so does anyone know of a 'fix' that would allow me to work around this and not have numerous functions 'greying out' when you are moving?

I wrote in May about my poor consumption figures. the car has apparently had the 5th injector mod and ECU remap, but consumption is still abysmal. Still averaging 34 to 38 irrespective of driving styles, journey types etc. Car is back in tomorrow, interestingly also for alloys replacement under warranty as per the note below. Will also be mentioning the poor consumption again and that if it doesn't improve I will be selling up. This is likely to be costing me circa £1000 per year in fuel. Not impressed.

My IS220D is booked in for a service next week and when I mentioned that it was giving poor fuel consumption AND poor power they mentioned ithere is a recall going out very soon for replacing the 5th injector and an ECU remap... I'm getting mine done on the service, so I'll revert with the improved fuel economy figures! If they don't improve you will see me posting on the BMW owners club next! I'm currently getting 34 to 38mpg regardless of how I drive, and pulling away from a standing start is abysmal. Apart from that, a great car with all the toys. Just a shame it doesn't have performance and economy to match (or beat) a BMW 320D
