can anyone please tell me where i can get longer studs from and also the size's and measurements i need. thanks
-
Thanks Guys,
Stav could you give me some pointers of where you got yours from and how you went about doing the job please :) . Aquaunuke you gotta remember that the new pads a considerably thicker than the worn one's (possible another 5mm) so its more like 10mm of stud at the moment ;).
-
it's 40 or 45 but i can't confirm as im at work at the moment. What offset are yours Redz??? Have you changed your pads?
-
hi,
i changed the alloys as soon as i bought the car, it had stock rims on before. Im pretty sure the offset is correct. Its such a bugger as my pads only have a few mm left until they hit the sensor. As i said it has always had a 5mm spacer on there but for it to get clearance with the new pads on it needs around 10mm. So i need to gain 5mm somewhere????

Hi guys,
Having a few problems fitting new brake pads.
Bought some new pads (standard, nothing flashy). Put them on and they fitted fine but when i tried to put the wheel back on it was locked against the caliper. I already had a 5mm spacer on there so i decided to put another 5mm making 10mm. Now i have clearance but i cannot screw the nuts on as there is not enough thread to to catch??? Out of interest i HAVE changed the rims (18's x7.5). Please help, how do the rest of you guys manage to change your pads without this problem???
P.s The only thing i can think of is get stud extenders but that will take ages
thanks in advance

Ecu

Ok guys,
Just to make sure, my ecu is the correct one for my auto/tip transmission???
If so, preliminary WOOOHOOO
P.s can i ask why it says M/T on it?
-
Lovely engine you got there, Kudos to you!!
Yeh i thinks its similar to the 5th and 6th gen celica's as my cousin has both. I know both are 3S-GE lumps, so i'm guessing the celica's are the earlier one's without vvti.

Really??? I always thoought you had to have the right ecu in for the appropriate transmission. I can understand how a Manual ecu can control an auto box???

Hi DSleazy,
I reckon stay well away from the idea of getting them powder coated in gold, they won't look too good!!! The ones with middles painted black look really nice, infact i was a hare's breath away from buying a car with those on! I just recently bought myself some new rims. They are the Lenso Reizen 2 in black.

Why don't you buy yourself some new 18's and sell your standard ones (you get about £200 for them cos thats what i got). Check these ones out:

Hi Chaps,
Well light finally came on and put £10 in, drove around aimlessly to see how much she clocked up. Managed to clock up 40 miles and still around 1 1/2 notches above empty, so i guess i must have been ripping the pants of it with my sledgehammer foot
P.s In the heat of the moment i ordered myself a new exhaust system to celebrate :D

Hi,
Just took my ECU out and it says DENSO on there. Is that the standard or aftermarket ECU???
-
Well i spoke to someone today and the gave me the following answer:
"Most likely down to a faulty sensor in the injection probably the temp sensor which controls the fuel enrichment for cold starting ie it still thinks the engine is cold so it enriches the mixture like the old manual choke."
Does that make any sense to anyone???
Gonna run it by my brother who's a mechanic and get it on the Diagnostic machine. By the way is the Altezza OBD 11 compatible?

Love yuur calm collected attitude TigerFish B) . I was totally panicking here but i gues il have to wait and see when the dreaded lights comes back on,let's hope your right. Until then Snow Mode on and as light as a feather with the right foot!!!
Would appreciate any other suggestions tho. I read in another post that cleaning the MAF sensor or resetting the Ecu could help
-
***Correction.
Just checked last night and it isnt 1/4 tank left its just 1 notch above empty. I put £40 when the light was on. Just spoke to the guy who i bought it from and he says it has an aftermarket ecu in it. But saying that he said he used to get around 50 miles from £10 without thrashing it.
