  1. Sorry for the late reply, not been around much. Thanks for all of the responses.
  2. Hi all, I wonder if I can get some clarification about the Timing Belt change. My 03 IS200 has not quite done 22K miles, that's right, doesn't get driven much, however as it is well past the recommended 6yrs for belt change, I am looking to do it. I will be doing this myself with a mate, as luckily I have access to a fully equipped garage, and after changing my mates belt on his RS4, the IS change appears to be a walk in the park. So, I was looking for clarification on what else should be changed... I know the belt kit includes the tensioner, but should the water pump be changed at the same time as well ? Is there anything else over and above this that needs to be considered ? Cheers
  3. Hiya, Thanks. Do you know if they picked up that the interior sensor was faulty by way of diagnosing it via the ECU ? Cheers.
  4. Check door-closure switches front and rear consistently operate the interior light. If intermittent can also cause auto head-lamps not to switch off. If you have to replace, be warned they are on very short, tight wires. Hi, I dont have any problems with the interior light, however the head lamps are usually switched off, not on auto, so I will try that by switching then to auto. Cheers.
  5. Hi, I wonder if anyone can help, my 03, IS200's alarm has started going off randomly, sometimes its once every couple of days, other times its 2/3 times a day. I have checked basics, no water in fuse box, all contacts seem good, battery appear to be ok, anyone know of anything else I can check ? It is going into my local lexus dealer on Tuesday for a diagnostic check, based on the fact that they told me the ECU does register alarm faults, however I find it difficult to believe that the ECU will be able to highlight where the fault is. I just get the funny feeling that I am going to give them over £50 for a diagnostic check and it will show nothing, Has anyone else exeperienced a similar problem nnd can offer any advice, suggestions. THanks a lot, Leigh
  6. I hadnt driven it for approx 8 weeks, next time I take it out, which I intend to do in the next couple of days, I am going to take it for a long run, so I shall see what happens. hopefully it will be the same scenario, it will loosen up after a bit of a drive. :-)
  7. Hi, there is plenty of fluid in the tank, not had a chance to check the belt yet though, as my battery needed charging... I'm not having much luck !! :-(
  8. Thanks for the reply. I cant say that my IS has been abused, .. its only done 18K miles. :-) I checked the tyres and they were fine. So with the full lock, what sort of noise am I looking fornfrom the pump, something like a whine or similar, and how can I tell if the belt is slipping ? I havent done much investigation yet, but I am assuming that the belt can be seen ? Thanks
  9. Hi all I hadn't driven my '03 IS200 for about 8 weeks, I drove it tonight and the power steering seemed very heavy. Has anybody got any ideas as to what I can look for to check for problems. Unfortunately, I am looking to sell it, so if I do discover a problem and need to do something, the less I have to spend the better. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  10. Thanks all... Looks like I need to join then.... gold membership, here I come.... :winky:
  11. Cheers. Thanks for the Welcome. And funnily enough, thats the reason I was asking, to see if I could swing a discount at my local dealer if I were to join properly. hehe.. :winky:
  12. Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help. Is there a list anywhere of which Lexus dealers offer discounts on servicing to members of the LOC, or can anyone tell me if my local dealer in Woodford, Essex offers discounts to members of the LOC. Thanks in advance. :)
