  1. Just bought a 1997 Soarer (SC300) its my 3rd one, had a Altezza before but decided I liked the Soarer more, I am hoping someone can help me with a problem with my radio, the Jap import one with satnav TV etc died and I needed to replace it, I found one with a TV that fitted the gap and got a garage that does work for me to fit it, seemed ok when I left the garage but discovered the antenna signal was week, I found a small unit under the back seat with all the antennas going to it that I think is the antenna booster I checked for power but found none there are for plugs, two gray ones that have the antenna going into them and two on the other side, one gray that looks like the GPS output to head-unit and the other white with for pins, I was wandering as anyone fitted one before that can help with pinout etc I know I can take it back to the garage but if possible I would prefer to do it myself Thanks in advanced for any help you can give
  2. Thanks for the advice I will keep the key ring in my pocket, not to good at balancing
  3. Hi thanks for your welcoming, the link that Carles was great, I think it will be very helpful, was going to have a go over the weekend of cleaning the idler speed control that Toyota suggested and sensor unit suggested by Carles, but after taking a look i decided it was probably a bad idea as I had no idea what the unit looked like and was a bit concerned I might muck up the throttle positioning unit, I think I will tackle the noisy side pillar instead, as this is driving me mad, so any advise on this would be appreciated. But when I pluck up a bit more courage I might have a go at cleaning the sensor again, thanks again John, and Wozza love the picture.
  4. Well I am gong to have a go at taking the idle speed control unit apart this weekend & clean it out, as anyone done this or taken one apart before?, I think its just a bolt on bolt of unit, I will take some pictures as I do it & post them.
  5. G-Day great site, its nice to know that there is a wealth of knowledge to give support, I have an imported 1999 Altezza (IS200) and seem to have the common problem of Low idling and then the engine dies at start up when cold, After reading through the threads it seems there’s no permanent fix, so I phoned the local Lexus/Toyota agent for advice. Lexus said it was due to the ISC (idle speed control) unit; they said it needed cleaning and after that a new gasket fitted, they said it was located at he end of the throttle cable?, is this something that can be done by yourself or will I need to take it to the dealer to rob me blind, I have a number of other common problems such as rattle in the driver’s door pillar and the driver’s auto window coming back to half way after using auto function but those can be sorted out over time, but the one I would like to sort out first is the idling problem so any help would be appreciated Thanks in advance for any you can give John
