  1. I am in a similar situation.

Well loved for immaculate astral black IS200 V reg, with 80k on the clock. x3 weekly polishes!

I love the car much but am not sure if it is time to part ex with some of the lexus dealers for a SE auto (hate North London traffic)or sell private or keep it till it breaks down?

What is the hit on the resale?

  2. Hmm,

Only problem is I've now moved from Sheffield to Nuneaton (warwickshire/Birmingham) to work at teh local hospital here

    Barnsley's a good 1.5 hour drive I reckon.

By the way, how long does it take to refurbish the whole 4 wheels. abotu 1-2 days?

  3. Interestingly enough,

I bought some zymol products down in Endfield Halfords the otehr day (smelt nice) and it was the strangest experience (nasally and visually) using the shampoo and polisher.

Zymol products smell like ..rich cosmetics or I liken it to a facial for the car.

Once I cleaned the bloody car inside out and exteriorly about twice over, I laid down a polish of T cut black, followed by Autoglym extra gloss, and out of curiosity, tried out the zymol polisher.

It is a lot of hard arm work, but its quite fun and the results were pretty good.

I'll let you guys knwo how long it lasts as I tend to speed up and down the M1/M6 between London/Nuneaton for work purposes

  4. Is it just a basic respray?

I have been fishign around bradford for a few resparay shops, the process seems to be a 7 layer spray job over 4-5 days....using a light IR sensor to detect teh exact paint colour...

    Does that sound abotu right?

so far, costings are between 200-450 GBP for front bonnet and wings and bumper

  5. Dear All,

I've bought my Lexus IS200 in some reasonable amount of chips and minor abrasions on teh front bonnet, only visible by naked eye, with 3 pretty small chips. and have since sustained a tiny spatter of chips ont eh front (thanks to the ole M1 gritter)

I'm now, quite fed up with the way it seems to attract chips like a magnet and am considering a respray.

Would anyone advise a respray at a lexus or non lexus garage. And is there a good place to have it resprayed! (I'm currently based in Doncaster Royal infirmary) Thanks!

  6. In comparison, Telewest and Pipex ADSL are not too bad, although anythign that has to rely on a BT network can get FUBAR (f**ked up beyond redemption) oft times.

Also, since broad band networks have an exclusivity licesne, eg. IN North london, you may only get Telewest, and not NTL, whereas in Swindon you only get NTL...so your choice is always limited between either cable company NTL/Telewest vs a BT pipeline (BT broandband, Freeserve, F9, Pipex, blah blah)

Alternatively...there is the great fish eye in the sky connection, i.e Sattelite Broadband connection. As I'm with telewest for past 3 years..havent had the guts to go changing things...

  7. i was wondering - i have a 1 year old kenwood m9031 + Dmask MP3 head unit on my nissan primera, and when i had a look at my new lexus, there doesnt seem to be enough place to fit a new head unit, save to get rid of the cd player and cassete tape unit from teh fact fit on the lexus.

I wonder what would ideally be a decent-great CD MP3/Tuner +/- 6 CD MP3 changer to fit on the lexus.

    Thoughts, anyone?
