  1. Gutted! I’ve just kerbed one of my wheels. It’s a 2004 pre face lift.                                         Does anyone know what colour these are? One of my other wheels has had a small scuff sanded down and painted and it doesn’t look too bad. I just don’t know what paint colour it is.
    Thanks

Mine has 108,000 miles. Any car could break down. Look at all the Audis and Mercs on the hard shoulders.

You are of course, spot on. However, Mrs F isn’t then philosophical type. 🤭

  3. I’ve been telling Mrs Finchy about your adventure. Trying to convince her that we could do that.

She’s comparing ages of SC’s and because ours is older with slightly more miles, she thinks we’ll break down.
I don’t think I’m going to win this one but I can live it through you guys.
    Have a great time. 😎

The first red car must have been taken with some sort of filter as to much chrome affect on the paint work , 2nd red one with the red seatbelts is a true colour👍🏻

The filter doesn’t do anything for the interior. The seats look really grubby but I’m guessing that they’re ok in reality.

My 2004 looks like it was never suppled with the netting in the boot and hasn’t even got the side retaining clips so I assume this was an optional extra.

Yes. Previous owner bought the netting.

  6. It’s On Autotrader as well now.
Looks lovely however, the boot looks like it’s got a fair bit of water staining in it so might need checking out.
Bob will know better than me but I do love the colour combo.

  7. The only downside to getting this car at such a good price is that I keep thinking something is going to go wrong……. Despite now having clocked up 750 miles and an MOT qualified mechanic telling me it’s in great order. 😉

I do indeed ‘get it’ now and can’t believe word hasn’t got out. These cars are fantastic fun and great value for money.

  8. Touch wood Bob.
No issues and my mechanic friend said it was a great car for the money. No rust or rot and everything works as it should.
I replaced the front grille because I felt it spoiled the overall look of the car having been painted the same colour as the car.

Ive had a throttle controller fitted which I’m happy with. When I want the car to be a bit more responsive, I can now have it.

Cam belt, water pump and plugs all replaced along with a full service.
I’ve also spent some time treating the leatherwork which has paid dividends. Now looks really good although it wasn’t that bad to start with.
So, assuming nothing untoward happens, I’ve spent £4625 in total but have a fully serviced, health checked SC.

Im going to run it for a year or so and if I carry on enjoying it as much as I am now, may upgrade to a late model, low mileage one in my preferred colour of blue or the dark red.
How’s things with you Bob? Are you getting any miles under your belt and what plans have you got for yours?

  9. Well after a month of ownership I’ve decided that bought wisely (and with the help of my Forum Friends) these are incredible value for money. Pound for pound smiles I don’t think they can be beaten.

I wanted a car that made me want to drive anywhere and everywhere …… not just to get from A to B but to enjoy the experience of getting there.

Im one very happy SC430 owner.

  10. A lot of the sensibly priced cars seem to be moving quite swiftly now. There’s a lot that have been around for a while including Shipley. I’m sure if they’d kept the price at £6995 it would have gone by now but at £7995 there look like better ones around.

  11. Just spotted another scam connected to eBay this time. Yes I have reported it!

Autotrader genuine seller looking for £13995 and the same car appeared on eBay for £6900. Same photos and reg number.

I enquired about the bogus advert and surprise surprise the guy said I wouldn’t be able to view it as he was ‘all over the country on business’.

Said he’s accept £4000 if I sent him the money and he’s organise a courier to get it to me….. He’d even give me a full refund if I wasn’t happy with it. What a guy!!!!

Ended the dialogue by telling him another gentleman had kindly offered me the same transaction but for £3500 so I’ve bought from him instead.

Strangely satisfying knowing that someone somewhere feels that a fellow scammer has just deprived them of £4k.

Rough set of photos, not much detail to been seen ☹️

Decent history on it too. Three owners from new. If it’s full lexus history as well….. bargain indeed.
