  1. The Mk 2 SE-L I have just purchased has 78k on the clock. Got it for such a reasonable price I couldn't say no. It's an approved used Lexus from a main dealer so comes with the full warranty for 1 year. Needless to say it's got a full (Lexus main dealer) history. I won't be doing that many miles in it but as has been said before, if you keep up the servicing it should cause you no problems. I have also gone for the service plan with the dealer so I've fixed the price of the next 3 services.
  2. Cheers for the information. I will have a look tonight and see what I can find..... Further to my last post I had a quick look last night in the drivers footwell but the location of the fusebox is not obvious to me!! Is it under the panel next to the accelerator or on the other side under the centre console? I can see 2 balck 'clips' holding the panel next to the 'hand' brake. If it's under the panel next to the accelerator, does this panel just pull off? Thanks again for any help you can give.

  4. Had the Rx 300 SE-L for a week or so now. Loving it - except for a small problem. There doesn't seem to be any power to the cigarette lighter - phone charger won't work. I have tried the charger in another car and it was fine. My wife tried the power outlet under the contre cosole and that worked once but doesn't any longer. I also tried the one in the boot but again, nothing. Does anyone know if this could be a fuse issue? I've looked at the fuse box under the bonnet but the diagram on the lid isn't that helpful! The diagram shows there should be a fuse for the 2nd power outlet but there isn't one in there!! Can't see which other fuse would operate these power outlets. I don't want to make the 90 mile round trip to the dealer if it's something as simple as a blown fuse. Is there another fuse box in the RX? I have seen other posts about footwell fuseboxes on other models but can't see one on the RX. Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
  5. I didn't explain that too well. I like to drive the car straight into the garage and then we have a door into the house from the garage. The RX fits into the garage, but I leave the garage door open to unload the boot (there is only a few inches of room once the garage door is shut). However, with the garage door open (and therefore above the car), the tailgate will hit the garage door when the tailgate is fully open. With a car (as opposed to an SUV) this wouldn't be an issue, because of the height difference. Hope that makes sense now.... Simon Standard garages are not good for a SUV - The answer is to "DIG A PIT" so the car is lower - however don't go to deep or the doors won't open and you would have to clamber out the back door now it can open fully Thats "LIFE" Sorry Could you not reverse into the garage so that the boot is nearer the door into your house?
  6. Found your site recently having been looking at buying a new car. Looked at many of the alternatives out there to the RX but then realised that there aren't really any that compare!! So I am now the proud owner of an approved used 05 plate RX 300 SE-L. Bit of a jump from a Xsara Picasso but wanted something a bit special to replace the motorbike I recently sold. Initially the wife wasn't keen but now she loves it - as do my kids. They just keep wanting to go out in it! Anyway, great site and looking forward to many years of Lexus ownership and luxury motoring.
