Is this an easy part to replace (hopefully with one from a breaker) and if so, how does one do it. Also, if anyone has a silver one for sale I would be interested to hear from them.

  13. Ive had my 1999 Mk2 GS300 for the last 9 years during which time it has proved to be extreamly reliable and I have only had to replace consumables during this time. I am now thinking of changing it for an early (2005) Mk3 and have become a bit concerned about the recent threads detailing some expensive problems (such a ECU's, oxygen sensors etc.) with the early cars. Can anyone tell me of all the known problems with the early Mk3 cars and, if possible, when they were corrected so that I can try to get the most relyable model year. Regards, Peter
  14. Thanks for the link Phil. It's just what I wanted. Peter
  15. I will probably be changing the front discs on my 1999 GS300. Is it a straight forward job or are there any particular problems I need to be aware of.
  16. I've had my 1999 GS200SE for eight years now and the only parts I have had to replace have been consumables and it has been 100% reliable. As far as fuel consumption is concerned I do 18 miles each way to work on Norwich ring road and main roads and regularly get about 32 mpg. On a run 33 to 34 is not difficult and I have had over 36 on a trip to Scotland. Arround town on short trips it returns about 15 mpg. Like every other car, the consumption depends on how you drive it and how heavy your right foot is. The car has now done just over 70,000 miles and it's about 3/4 through it's second set of tyres. Servicing is a significant cost but I get mine done by an ex-Lexus dealer whose charges are much lower than the main dealer. It's certainly the best car I've ever had and I woud definitely get another one. I hope this helps.
