    The SL2i and SL2Vi don't fully work with the iPhone 3G - playback is OK but the phone will not charge as the wiring harness does not supply the required 5v feed - this is only an issue if you want the phone to charge while its in the car but to my mind its not much use if it doesn't Vaistech have an upgraded version for audio (the SL2i-UP) which costs a few dollars more and will charge your 3G phone - the upgrade for video playback still isn't available yet but is promised soon Hope this helps
