  1. He doesn't sound like the world's best salesman, I have to say. I'll see how I get on with mine if I try the same technique.
  2. I think I'm going to change it. I really don't think such a similar name should have been allowed. But there doesn't seem to any way of doing so on the board! Can anyone tell me how to do it?
  3. Oh, lol, should have figured that out myself Yer had me, just seen prolex and thought of Dave,as i know he has is350, seem funny someone joining as prolex, or is that just me :duh: If I'd known there'd be confusion with an existing name I wouldn't have used it. Surprising I was allowed to. I may change it.
  4. You wouldn't notice any difference at all between 17" & 16" diameter rims, probably about the same as the difference in recommended tyre pressures for running the possible variations in loading and speeds. You're only talking about 1/2" more rubber in the sidewall, so why do you think the ride will feel any softer? Thanks for that. I suppose it's the extra 1/2" cushion of air I was thinking about. But it's nice to hear there's so little effect.
  5. Why you wanting is250 SE auto Do you know of any problems with them?

  7. Thanks very much for those replies. I'd certainly quote the DtD price if I went to the dealer. But because DtD prices are so amazing, (thousands off, not far off year-old used from a dealer) I was wondering if any shortcomings they had would be so large as to prevent my taking advantage. But it seems from what you say that the dealers are desperate enough to match them. Amazing!
  8. I'm exploring the possibility of buying an IS 250 SE auto through Drive the Deal. It's an alternative to a year-old model through a dealer. Any opinions on the DtD service? Advice? Tips from users? I'd be most grateful. Thanks
  9. Contrary to the usual direction for wheel size, I'd like to go smaller to get a softer ride on an SE model IS250 I'm thinking of buying. It comes with 17" wheels and I believe the 16" available on the base model give a softer ride...even though you can't fling it round corners with the same degree of abandon. Is it technically allowable under warranty? And am I right about the harder ride of the 17" wheels in this car? I'd be most grateful for advice before going to the dealer. Thank you.
  10. Thank you, Parthiban. I'll have a look at Edgware. They're nearest.
  11. Thank you for that. Looking again, it does seem that the diesel model has the majority of the problems. May I ask your opinion of N. London Lexus dealers? And perhaps a recommendation?
  12. I'm contemplating a new IS 250 Auto. However, after years of owning Accords, I've practically forgotten what it's like to have anything go wrong. Having come across this excellent site, I'm rather alarmed at the amount of dissatisfaction with various aspects of Lexus ownership being expressed. I want to switch because of the perceived quality, performance and finish of Lexus cars. But not if I'm going to lose the rock solid dependability of Honda engineering. A test drive, even an extended one, doesn't provide down-the-line information. What does?
