Hello All, I purchased a second hand Lexus RX400h last summer. Its now due for its 40,000 mile service. I've got quotes from Lexus Hatifield, Edgware, Twickenham and prices varied from £450 to £560. I've never been a fan of dealer servicing and was strongly comtemplating having the service done elsewhere and save mself some money as well ! Firstly, has anyone any experience of any independent garages for servicing their Lexus? Reading around the forums I've see an note on Westfields in Essex.....though I'm willing to travel to go to a good garage, I wanted to see if there was anything closer - in and around London. Secondly, this car is a hybrid (so I gather more complex?), is there reason I should be going to a dealer because of this? Any advice/opinions/experiences/recommendations would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks Guys...after several hours of investigative work, using the few clues I had....it turns out that the way to do it was to tune into an FM frequency to pick up the sound from the DVD player....which I though was most bizarre. Nevertheless it works. Thanks for the replies. Cheers.

Hi - I'm hoping someome can help. We purchased an RX400 some months ago from a private seller. He had the works installed when he originally purchased the car....DVD player, playstation etc... However, the original owner moved to the US so I cannot ask him this question. The DVD player works fine, there are some wireless headphones set up that you can use to listen to the DVD, however I had been unable to get the DVD to output the sound through the cars speaker system. Does anyone know whether this is possible and if so how its done? One of my kids has special needs and no matter how hard we try he just won't put on any headphones. Appreciate any help on this. Thanks.
