  1. Wellllllllllllllllllll after getting the sat nav.heating and sound system unit out. i figured out the problem someone had done a DIY job the cables that link the headunit to the sat nav. After sorting them out the Sat Nav now operates fine. thanks for the help people!!!!!! :winky:
  2. Is it hardwired then when it's in the console? Or does it just have another IR receiver in there? Those mechanisms are surprisingly resilient though, mine's survived countless people trying to close it by hand ( ) and it's outlived the one in my bro's newer BMW which has only been working intermittently for quite a while now It has an IR reciever built into the console for when its fitted in the holder :) I changed the batteries in the reomte that some one mentioned next to the gear stick etc. but if i press any of the buttons nothing hapens. As i mentioned before the screen i can open up manually by pressing the "open/close" button but nothing will be displayed on the screen. The Lexus system got taken out along time ago and have had a Alpine unit installed however it has worked fine since then..... HOWEVER thinking about it recently i had to have the alpine system serviced n since then it has not worked......
