hi, glad you like them... well i paid £70 for four alloys from ebay..(he only had them on for an hour and i quickly grabbed them)...i paid £100 for four very good used low profile tyres... so £175 all in for the wheels... (I managed to sell my original alloys that where on the car (on ebay) for £120... :) :winky: :D so managed to snatch a good bargain..

Yeah I'm impressed too, I thought the S class was the first car to have it. Although it must be said that according to that link the Lexus wasn't fully thought out to begin with as it couldn't apply the brakes, but still a good idea :) I just tried out the radar cruise on my LS400. IT WORKS...!! but it doent break when it starts to get close to the vehicle in front..it just sound a very loud alarm....better than nothing..

I'm not sure it would actually work that well if it can't apply the brakes, engine braking isn't really enough a lot of the time to slow you down enough........... Think it's worth a test though :D yeah..ill try it on the dual carriage way sometime soon. ill keep you posted.

I had no idea that could be a possibility, but apparently the Toyota introduced adaptive cruise on the celsior in 1997.......... LINK Wow...adaptive cruise control...I think my LS has a few extras that you dont get on the UK versions. Av got rain sensitive wipers aswell..is this standard or an option? I have always thought that there are no options on an LS400 as everything is standard. thanks

yes mine is an import. Lexus Celsior. I looked under the bumper and there seems to be a part number...any idea how i can find out what the part is ? are there any online data bases for part numbers..? Thanks

Hi, I had thought that it was just a cover that was missing from the front bumper, however after close examination it seems that there is a lens inside it with something that looks like an LED next to it... Any ideas??

Hi agian, I have an imported LS400 (Celsior)....My nav box in the boot is very different from the old one thati had at home... I always thought that the nav box has a CD/DVD init. can anyone tell me what the other box is that's attached to it.... this is the one I had at home.. and this is the one that was in my car..where is the cd?? and what's that dark grey box attached to it? thanks

hi, Av got an imported Celsior LS400 (1999). After looking at a few pictures of LSs...av noticed that mine doesnt have an aerial...? Any idea why?

LOL sorry had a wee chuckle there, last year i did kwik fit for a mot and got advisory same as you for No 11 & 12 cudnt get me on discs as i had renewed all 4 discs + pads and handbrake shoes but hadnt adjusted them right, thes 2 ways to do ur No 11 &12 1st is like already posted adjustment nut on wheels thro the disc or quickest n easiest is jack car up n adjust the main adjustment cable dead centre of car shud take 5_10 mins and no need to take wheels off just a couple of spanners n bobs ur uncle, i ran my car for a year without doing the job on my handbrake n just did it on wednesday just gone put car in for mot thursday and flew throw no advisorys yeehaa and even got complemented on how clean car is underneath ie no rust hi, thanks for the advoce...ill get on it straight away

yes, I think it does sound a bit over the top to me aswell!! the MOT was done by Kwik Fit... You advised that I should get a diognostics done...however, because my ls400 is a jap import, av heard that there aint a system that reads the codes...what do you think i should do..? Thnaks

Personaly if that was my car I would work through the issues one by one as you have a year to sort it and none of the issues are dangerous, but it sounds like the mechanic was hoping for some extra work to me... However the 'deformed steering rack' sounds a bit odd, does the steering feel strange? The steering feels fines to me...I had tracking done the other day and apart from that nothing... but I did notice one thing though..When I accelarate, i can feel a slight vibration coming from the accelator pedal..any idea what it is...?

What I meant by 'navigation computer' is basically the box in the boot. I read somewhere that if I was to change it then it might work...? mine seems to be the Hard-Drive based unit cuz there seems to be no CD input anywhere... Some japanese guy told me that there is a guy at soarer.tv that converts japanese to english...does anyone have any experience with them?

Hi, sorry if this is a repeat question.... I have just purchased a ls400 1999 model. my second LS now. the touch screen and dash are all in japanese!! I read somewhere that if I was to replace the box in the boot with a UK one then it'll change the language. however, would I have to change the touch screen unit also? will the dash language change also? Will my radio start working if I replaced it? it has TV option..so will this also start working? I have been quoted £80 for a navigation computer...Is this a good price? Many thanks

My 1996 LS400 just hit 265,000 miles and still drive like new. Cant wait till I reach the 300,000 milage mark.....Watch this space.

Hi all. I am really happy with my LS430 (2002) and I am really really enjoying my drives to work. HOWEVER, I just noticed that the 'check VSC' and the warning triangle is on. I really dont know how i missed it when I was checking the car before buying.... But anyway....has anyone got any idea what the VSC is and how I can rectify this problem it's really making me worried Please help.... Thanks

it feels great. there are so many bmws and mercs around in my arear....but i havnt seen an LS around... so i feel quite unique (well in my area anyway)..... my brother has a bmw 58 plate.....but i can say it's nothing compared to my LS... Hi all, the hunting is over... av just purchased a LS430 it's a 2002 model with full service and 113000 on the clock av got some pics....... a BIG thanks to all that gave me advice before i purchased.
