  1. Hi all, Not long had my is 200 and when I was washing it over the weekend the the letter 'I' fell off when I was drying the boot lid. Now I'm left with the black backing messing up the back of the car. I kept the badge but what would you all recommend to stick it back on? Wasn't keen to try regular superglue so I'm a bit stuck ;) thanks
  2. Thanks for the quick answer Parthiban. I'm not sure that would work though. I have an iRiver iHP140 (not as slick as the look of the original 40gb ipods but kicked its pretty behind on specs). It has the standard 3.5mm jack connector as you'd expect plus a 3.5mm optical in and out. The USB as far as I can tell from plugging it into the PC switches it into a file transfer mode to drag and drop files and music so I don't think I can connect via the USB. Long story short, I'm looking for a double DIN head unit to replace the standard OEM. The only "must have" is connectivity for my mp3 and Bluetooth for handsfree phone calls. Budget is around the £2-250 mark hence the Pioneer FH-P80BT or Kenwood DPX503U. The Pioneer just looks nicer and I'd pay extra for that alone. thanks!
  3. Hi - love this Pioneer unit and thinking of replacing my OEM with one. Quick question for anyone who has one - is the mp3 connector only on the rear of the unit? I ran wiring in the back of my last car (BMW 325 coupe) behind the dash and up through the transmission tunnel but a front 3.5mm jack would be some much easier. Not a fan of ipods - too much style over substance so anything 'made for ipod' doensn't really help me. Don't need to charge via the cable, my mp3 has what often seems like an infinate power supply. thanks
  4. Hi all, Got myself an is200 a few weeks ago and am looking at where to go for servicing. Its a 2000 model with 86k on it. I can't find mention of the cam belt being done so thats on the list as well as a full service. Can anyone recommend a friendly independant somewhere in Lancashire? I'm in Southport commuting to Blackpool through Preston every day so that side of the county would be good. My last 2 cars (BMW 325 coupes) were both serviced by a good BMW indy in Bolton so failing some enlightenment its off there again. Thanks in advance new666uk
  5. Thanks kam05, I'll try the transmission fluid on the next service and see what that does. On the Cd front, my brother had an is200 until last year that was older than mine so had the Cd slot at the bottom. He ended up sending his for repair when it error3'd but we thought that was cured on the newer top slot versions. Oh well, easy come, easy go. I prefer to play MP3's anyway so will have to get an FM transmitter for now. thanks new
  6. Hi all, Just got myself a 2001 is200 manual after 10 years in BMW 325i coupes (all auto). On the test drive it was a little notchy shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and 2nd to 3rd. After so long being pampered by an auto I just put it down to my clumsy left foot but after driving for a couple of weeks its no better. Some shifts are smoother than others (especially if done slowly) but from what I have now read it seems to be a pretty regular issue. Is there anything I can do to improve the situation? New transmission fluid etc (recommendations?) Its only got 85k on it with FSH and being a Toyota I wasn't expecting any issues at all. Also on a completely unrelated note, the CD changer has a fit playing discs sometimes - needs to be shuffled from disc to disc before it's happy (its the newer system with the CD slot at the top). Thanks all, looking forward to learning lots from the forum (like how to get some more power - already missing the extra power the BMW's had)! thanks
