TBH, i would have to say yes if every IS220 was like mine. BUT, it seems that there is a bit of a lottery out there. I have not had a single fault in the 6 months and 18K, and routinely return around 48mpg. Have actually managed 54mpg on a full tank (a little light footed admitedly) before. I did have a courtesy car during my last service and drove exactly the same way but could not drag it over even 38mpg. Although this was an '09 it did feel really tight. One thing i would recommend though is to buy around 12 months and sell by 3 years. Mine is a 57 plate and should see me to around 60k at 3 years. I don't personally like the exposure to risk outside the warranty, i have a feeling Lexus repairs arent cheap !!
