  1. I was looking at fitting parking sensors to my is250 and came across http://www.parkingdynamics.co.uk/ and their PD1 which is like a strip which you mount behind the bumper, which means no holes and full coverage.

Has anyone got any experience of this? Too good to be true?

    Thanks in advance

did you end up getting these

no i haven't yet but still considering lol! I'm just thinking that the camera is enough for now, gonna get a new car in around 6 months anyway...

  2. There was a member who had a thread about fitting these to a GS, but don't think he's got around to fitting them yet.

I think they do work, but are different to ultrasonic parking sensors in that they only detect objects when moving (which isn't the biggest issue)

ahh i should have searched first!

thanks buddy, now just trying to think of the negatives of not having them bleep when not moving..surely its better because you dont have that annoying bleeping when youre not moving?

Is this for your rear bumper only? or for the front and back?

can get it for both front and back...

also i saw one on the net yesterday which has a "memory" function, so it bleeps when you are not moving also..

  4. Hi I have an is250 MM and I want to put some brighter lights in (maybe with a bit of blue) and I just went to Halfords and was told that i need H11's which they don't stock. Now from looking on the net I can see there a couple available, but I have no clue about whether they are HID's or normal and if they will fit straight into my car etc etc..

So i was hoping that some of my kind fellow lexus owners could help me?? I found the 2 below, but I wanted something with a bit of blue: does anyone know where I can get blue ones? and also would the ones below fit straight in?

    Thankss!!!

p.s. sorry for my lack of knowledge about this sort of stuff, it my first car!!

  5. I have to agreee as above...samsung are usually terrible in terms of using them! But i do like the look of the tocca ultra edition...maybe just good advertising?!

I would say don't be reluctant to go to carphone warehouse to get one of them to come and try it out in your car, I mean even if you go in and say to them you won't be buying it today but just want to try it im sure they would give it a go...

alternatively, you could go to a highstreet vodafone store and ask to try it with the car??

if you do get the phone, do let us know how it is!

  6. I know absolutely loads of people have posted about fitting HID's and I have read through a fair few of them, but I just wated to check:

Firstly, a lot of people talk about how theyve fitted conversion kits onto their cars. Having read through the DfT website it seems that you need to have them self levelling (or self levelling suspension), does this mean that people have fitted these? If not, how do you get by getting the MOT done?

Secondly, do Lexus fit aftermarket HID's? If so, what is the approximate cost of this?

    Thanks in advance...

  7. Hi,

I think you'll find that you can activate it through the menu's on the screen but to make it automatic you have to play with the thing that adjusts the brightness of the light of the speed dials etc. which is located to the right of the steering wheel (on RHD cars)

I can't remember if you have to turn it till it clicks for it to be automatic or turn it till just before it clicks..have a play you should be able to figure it out.

    hope this helps..

  8. Well, I had a problem with my air con, strange smell coming when its turned on...

so after reading this, I headed down to Halfords yesterday and bought the comma stuff. Gave it a go as soon as I got home, at so far it seems to have worked (although it smells strangely like lemons in my car now). Beware though as when its finished it leaves that aerosol stuff in the air in the car which can give you that choking feeling, so make sure that you give the car good time to vent out after using it..

Thanks to the person/people who suggested it, saved me loads by not having to go to Lexus to have it looked at, lets hope it hasnt just masked the smell...

  9. I couldn't seem to find the settings for the re-route...is it the thing in the RDS-Traffic info settings?

With regard to the time thing...when I click where it says "--:--GMT" it comes up with a button which says "Arrival Time" but pressing that does nothing....I know they changed the Battery in my car before it was delivered to me - would that make a difference?

It's a 55 reg, with 2008 Navigation DVD installed by the way..

  10. I mean that as soon as I stray off the suggested route it does not correct my mistake by either telling me to turn around or calculate a new route...I end up having to stop and re-enter the destination from where I am.

Is there a setting for this? I can't seem to find one..

Also, is there somewhere to set the time on the navigation system? It doesn't seem to show the arrival time either just shows: "--:-- GMT" with no numbers..
