  1. Have had our IS220 for nearly a year now with a few minor problems but overall LOVE the car. However, about 3 months ago had a problem with the clutch - when depressing to change gear sounded like air escaping from the pedal (like a whoosh noise). Anyway, took it to our local dealer who inspected it and on returning it to us, told us that they had lubricated and everything was now fine. A few weeks later, we went away for the weekend and on our return journey, the clutch seemed to pack up - really difficult to enagage gear and at one point were stuck on a roundabout with no gear selection except reverse?? Took it back to lexus dealer who looked at it and said that the linkage had slipped and they had adjusted it and all would be fine?? Yesterday, on my drive into work, the whooshing noise came back - it really sounded like the air brakes on a lorry, and as the car got warmer so the gear selection seemed to be "crunchier". I have taken it back to the lexus dealer and they have looked at it but can find no fault. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, is there a resolution to it.
