Hi,
My Lexus RX300 needs a full service with possible cambelt change (approaching 90k).
Does anyone here know of a good lexus specialist in the milton keynes area or surrounding it?
Thanks for your help in advance. Also any idea how much a cambelt change will cost?
Lexus Milton Keynes
21 Alston Drive
Bradwell Abbey, Milton Keynes MK13 9HA

Have always found them very good, friendly and helpful. (And not too expensive as Lexus main dealers go!)

I bought my RX400h from them and it goes back for service too. I cannot speak too highly of the service I have received,- nothing is too much trouble or inconvenient.

After 8.5 years and 93000 miles with my trusty RX300SE I have today finalised a deal to buy a 2007 RX400h SR with Multimedia.
After looking at BMW, Audi etc I just felt so much more at home in the Lexus with all of its standard toys.
However as part of the overall deal the dealer wants me to buy GAP insurance and Supagard. He described both as no-brainers. However I had neither when I bought my original RX300SE.
I am looking to pay cash between the PX value and the agreed price.
What do other LOCers think of GAP insurance in these circumstances? They are quoting £399 for 3 years
Also Supagard at £299. Is it worth it? Does it last? or should I just Autoglym it when I receive it (or get someone to do it for me).
Finally any recommendations on the best towbars for a RX400h?
Looking forward to your responses
I had gap insurance and superguard on my 400h-well pleased!! Also had towbar fitted by Lexus.Quite expensive but I most local towbar fitters said they would not fit to a 400h-too complicated and could easily create problems. Lexus did reduce their original quote a lot, so I let them fit it then no problems in the future(I hope)

Last year I bought a 2008 model (demonstrator) and went for both of these options.
GAP gives a guarantee of purchase cost in the event of a write off in the 3 year period. Difficult to put a value on this as it is an insurance policy.
Also had the Superguard. Personally I think this was expensive for what I got and they did not do a very good job of it. In my opinion it is not worth the money.
Hope you enjoy the car.

I have a RX400h, which I think is the bees knees ….. I want to return to caravanning and called my local Lexus dealer to ask the price for fitting a towbar and electrics, also what was the max weight I should tow. The dealers reply was that it is not advisable to fit a towbar to a hybrid.
I see from previous threads that back in 2005 and 2006 this was partially discussed and no-one was saying anything detrimental about towbars and hybrids at that time.
I would appreciate any comments from any-one with a towbar on an RX400h, is it okay or not.
Many thanks in advance ………
I had a genuine tow-bar fitted to my RX400h by Lexus M/Keynes before I collected car. No comments from them about suitability- in fact tow-bar is listed in accessory list. Mine is fine and car tows very well.

I have recently bought a RX400h,(2007 and only 9000miles). However I find the reversing lights very feeble. Is this just me (or my car,) or do others agree? Has anyone any cures as I have to reverse into a dark and twisty entrance at home? Otherwise the car is great - approx 30mpg including towing a big caravan and fast open road driving.
