  1. Just did a touch up on my LC. You are correct the clear coat is tinted. In fact it’s almost candy red (but still clear when dry).

Base coat was closer to copper than red!

Need both for an almost invisible repair.

For clarity, the clear coat is TINTED and not “clear”.

  2. Ironically it was only earlier in the week Lexus were saying they were not aware of issues with the LC…. Generic stock boiler plate responses to a serious issue.

On the positive we should have a solution soon and it will probably involve software / EUC related changes not additional brackets and plates.

But… I’m sure it’s not going to be the end of this, what they say and do remain to be seen for us Lc owners.

  3. Top tips for the last gen info screen… use it in split mode. On the right you want climate. Left, whatever you want (music for me as sat nav is pants in all cars).

Then make sure climate is on Auto (concierge) for passenger seat, wheel and drivers seat.

if you find the auto function is a little too warm or hot change it the settings for a different default.

    job done!

  4. Don’t let my annoyance with the Bridgestones put a downer on it.

I still love the car. And my “issue” is only noticeable when pushing on.

More importantly, the beef is with the tyres not the car!

  5. Okay I’ve had this too. But it’s completely gone now. I thought it may have been the transmission acting up as you say it was when you pull off or coming to a stop. Lexus looked at it and could not replicate it.

It’s not happened in over 6 months now.

It didn’t manifest during any other scenario.

Saw a yellow one in the flesh today for the first time and loved it (I had discounted them really). When I first started looking there was a yellow 2023 ex-demo Sports Plus for sale for very good money. Wish I had gone to see it now and perhaps snapped it up.

Two separate trips to Main Dealers have been a bit under-whelming if i'm honest. Both knew I was coming, but cars were dirty. I had to actually ask them to move the car out as it was so close to another car, you couldn't see one side, and then it wouldn't even start as battery was totally flat so they had to jump it (with me helping hold the battery pack so it didn't damage anything). Not a great look - surely it's the basics to check for this stuff.

I know a lot of modern cars go flat if not left on trickle charge (both my Vantage and Giulia were bad for this), though I could leave my Audi for months and pretty sure it would start first time. Is it know on these that there can be a large battery drain? They said it had only been left for a couple of weeks; so that would be me stranded at the airport after a two-week holiday! Car is only a year old, so shouldn't need a new battery.

Don’t let this put you off. Whilst they may have been sloppy with the sale, the service and post purchase experience is different.

I’m a big fan of bold colours, including yellow.

Any issues (which in all likelihood will be niggles like a Battery pack getting on) will be dealt with under the warranty.

Your safe Marcus, they used to charge more, they don't now its just the normal Major service cost although they will probably try to sell you some add ons, fuel adaptive, ect.

I’ve booked in for a service and they tried the cross sell with me… I declined. The cross selling is a little cheeky. If the car needs it, say it (and make it a service item) if it doesn’t, don’t try and push it and make it sound important.

  8. I had ps4s on my Tesla model 3 performance. Even in the worst conditions losing traction was a very very rare event. Granted it was 4wd but even so. I think I’ll swap them out as we are going for a few spirited drives in the next couple of months.

  9. Took the car out for a run today. Dry but cold. The Bridgestone’s are pants. Absolute pants. Can’t put anything down in terms of power. I may change them out of frustration as opposed to wear…next service is next month. Is Michelin the consensus?
