  2. First of all hello :D

My names John im 25 an im from the Wirral, near Liverpool, im a new owner of a scarlatti red lexus is200 that im picking up next saturday, to say i cant wait is an underestimation. :yahoo:

Plans are pretty minimal at the moment but who knows, i always seem to say this with previous cars. I'll post pictures once iv given it my own personal touch of cleanin, the driveway will look very strange one i get my personalised plate on as my plate is L77 JCG and my dad owns the plate L77 RCG and also owns a scarlatti red lexus is200.

  3. hi, iv just bought an is200 today and im already looking at mods, im unsure whether i will be keepin with 17's or going for 18's, i would like to lower it, but im thinking coilovers might make the ride just to harsh, im lookin for a kit that will lower it closer to the wheel to improve the look over standard but one that minimalises the ride comfort from standard,

any info anf pics would be a great help

  4. Hiya im looking at gettin an is200 and loads of garages have said they are chain, i know this is bull for a fact so each time i have proved them wrong and they have agreed, the next problem i has is they said it says in the servicing manual the belt doesnt need changing till it reaches 100k, although i have heard off other people this was revised and changed to 60k on later is200's?

anyone car to shed any light and if i do need to get it done how much i shud be looking at payin?

  5. binding brakes? Any vibration to go with the noise?

starting to get vibrating thro the steering column yes?

I would get Lexus to check them out then. Either sticking piston in the caliper or sticky slide pins. These are the tutorials I did on related components for these quite common issues if you fancy having a go yourself.

    Slide Pin Overhaul

    Pad and Disc change

    Caliper Removal/Change

thank you for the information i will pass this on and tel him to inform lexus

  6. My dad has an is200 and ever since he bought it its had this droowning noise coming from the front, very much like the road noise you get when going over freshly laid tarmac, it has been back to lexus and suposidly had new bearings fitted, but stil the noise is there, it becomes alot louder inder break when the weight of the car is on the front end,

Anyone shed any light on this, its going back into lexus on thurs and my dad said he aint leaving til its sorted as its driving him mad
