  1. I have seen a product called A Glaze and was wondering if anyone has used it and knows if it is any good -

    A Glaze

Does it do what it says or is it all marketing bull, I hate polishing :yack: so a sealant system like this would seem ideal - if it works B)

  2. Is it something like 8 out of 10 seats are not fitted correctly!

Maybe those people need to buy an IS200, once the seats in its near impossible to get it back out, it ain't going nowhere, its a pain.

I also have one of those base units that fit in stay in position, which you then clip the child seat into. Nice and easy, only problem is that the scooped rear seats make the angle far to great and the babies head flops right forward :crybaby: in a rear facing seat.

Guess I'm gonna have to get a Volvo or mondeo :alien:

  3. the secret to a tight fit is to pull the seat belt out all the way until the ratchet engages, then put downward pressure on the seat with your knee (not whilst child is in it), pull the strap as tight as possible and engage the strap lock on the seat, I can ensure you if you do this the seat is secure and is going know where.

How do you then release the belt from the child seat, it wont retract because of the lock and so in my case I can't get the seat out without a lot of twisting :hehe:

(The child seat, not me  )

  4. Hi all,

On myIS200 the leather is coming away from the airbag cover in the side of the passenger seat.

Not under warranty :crybaby: as car is 5 years old nearly, and am wondering what the best way to fix it is. It looks like it is just glued in place but I am unsure about how to do this as i have used superglue on leather before and it is not a good mix :yack:

    Can Anyone help

    Thanks :)

  5. The othe day I tried starting my IS200 and the engine spun around just like there was no compression or the starter motor had not enganged. To test this I put it in gear and turned the key and the car moved so the starter motor was engaging.

It did this for several tries and then eventually it turned over properly, as in whir whir whir, it was doing weeeeeeeeee, (hope you get what I mean) and fired up.

I have had the car over 4 years and this is the first and only time it had done this,

Anyone got an ideas what may have happened

  6. Police at blue water have 306 diesels and those little smart cars so if you get into any little incidents then ahem, you may be able to , ahem get away. lol. not that i would advise that kind of behavior.

Bluewater has its own police station and cells.

Also Kent police are notorious for being hatters of car meets and if they do show they will more then likely be going over all our cars with fine tooth combs!! ( i would sooner be pulled by the met anyday)

5 - 10 yrs back Dartford used to have a big boyracer problem on the one way system thats why the police are so touchy about it.

Also be aware that all cars going into Bluewater have their registartions taken by digital cameras and stored on a database which is automatically searched for cars marked as wanted and the police are notified. I know this because a mate of mine was a site maintenance forman there for several years. There are security camaras everywhere so don't do nothing stupid.

I may come down for a while as I live nearby, Is the missis allowed cos she loves the Lexus too.

  7. Use of a mobile phone while driving a car will be illegal. The legislation says the mobile phone has to be in a permanent hands free holster with a separate speaker and microphone.

What about Bluetooth then  phone in locked glove box, Bluetooth headset on with voice activation - still illegal cos the phone is not in a permanent holster.

It is much safer as there are no buttons to touch as there would be on a handsfree kit as legislated

Anyone know if the Bluetooth thing will be corrected or is this just gonna be another one of those good old english law ***** ups :duh:

  8. I've been using the freebie version of Zone alarm on Xp for several months now on broadband and it is good. The blaster virus never got me, nor has any other form of attack other than the standard Email virus's which get picked up by McAfee virus scanner.
