  1. I probably won't be that lucky... RMB Lexus Teesside are picking it up today. Great service from them guys n gals, can't thank them enough!
  2. **UPDATE** And now the engine management light has come on with a sign saying "check vsc"... What a truly brilliant car...
  3. Hi guys, I thanks for the replies. Great forum. :-) On closer inspection last night, it sounds more like a belt. Definitely not the turbo as that's kicking in at much lower revs. On the way home last night the noise came on again so i kept it in 3rd up to 70mph and just sat there; the noise went away. IMHO I think its a belt... Off to the garage we go... again... Honestly, the things that have gone wrong on this car in only 50k miles of motoring are laughable.
  4. Soooo I'm back here again.... I still haven't got the flywheel fixed and nor am I going to BUT I have another new fault. On my way home last night I was on the dual carriageway and decided to overtake a '40 miler', I was greeted by a weird wining noise from the engine. I knocked it out of gear and revved the engine to hear the noise again. It was happening at anything over 3000rpm and more so at 4000rpm, not that I drive that way normally but I tested the sound out to give me a better understanding. I left the car until this morning and it seemed fine. This afternoon it is doing the same sound but not as severe. The sound itself sounds in time with the turbo but I can't be sure as it when the engine revs creep up. It could be a belt, I really can't tell. It sounds like a when you hum and whistle at the same time, if that makes sense but get louder and more high pitched with the revs. Has anyone had this happen before?? I really can't wait to get shot of this car...
  5. Hi Chris, I think you're right, I've heard it said before about the 250. When my cylinder head was getting replaced at 60000 miles, I had a lend of a CT200h and I really liked it. TBH, I didn't like the look and it wasn't very quick in a straight line but the drive and tech were fantastic, so credit where credit is due. I've emailed Lexus UK with a nicely worded note about my issues with the car and list of things that have gone wrong on it. Bearing in mind that the car had 27k on it when I bought it, it now only has 74k miles on it and I've had the cylinder head, clutch, fly wheel, bearings, egr valve, engine map, injectors, alloys (twice) all replaced, I think it's fair to say I have a strong case for being annoyed with it. It's a fair list to go wrong for 50k miles of motoring and not what you'd expect from a quality brand like Lexus. I await their reply and hopefully I'll get one.... if the reader does't fall asleep before the end of my email! ;)
  6. Oh dear... Looks like this little Lexi is gonna be handed back to the finance company. I aint spending £1500 on a car that's worth £6k - no way. Also looks like this is going to be my first and last Lexus. It's been so unreliable, it's beyond a joke. Years ago I had a Mondeo with 100k on and it has less faults than this iS220d that I've had since it had 25k on!
  7. Yeah Steve, £860 for the DMF alone for lexus. £400 for the whole clutch pack for the Avensis...
  8. Hi all, I've been a member on here for a few years but never posted as I've always found my answers in the forum somewhere - thanks for all your help so far! ;) I recently took my Is220d (07 plate, 75k miles, owned by me for 4 years) to RMB Lexus to get an estimate for the paint repair, as the valet driver had ran the passenger side down a road sign...! I kindly asked them to see what the slight squeaking noise is on the clutch and apparently I need my DM Flywheel replaced. My question is: can I use Avensis parts for the DM F and clutch? Thanks in advance.
