  1. have a look throught the IS220/IS250 forums there are lots of various comments about the diesel model, also through this new members area as well, my thoughts would be test drive for as long as period as you can as the gears are a little strange but it took me no time to get used to them, check for service history also you'll see the treads on here regarding re-calls for some models. Good luck and hgappy hunting!!
  2. I've just recently purchased a 56 Lexus 220d se with MM, I found this forum whilst in the buying phase and I would just like to say thanks to all those that had posted opinions good and bad about the 220dse, thanks to these posts I took the car for a long and hard test drive so I could see for myself what i felt about it.. and if I should really hold out for the 250auto!! Anyway thanks ito a long test drive and some detailled information from here I bought it and now love driving it...so to anyone thinking about it.... I love my 220d yes Im sure there are some awful ones but test drive and see for yourself, being forewarned helped me so much, BTW Lexus Cambridge were great and I managed to negotiate and get free next service thrown in too combined with full lexus pre approved benefits. I had a BMW 320 m sport convert before whilst it looked great the drive was awful worst i've ever driven and I've had loads of rear wheel drives so i guess I had the Friday afternoon car from BMW previously! :shutit:
  3. Having just switched from a BMW 320d to a Lexus 220d se inc MM I would def have the lexus again again I guess it depends if you are after something different...the BMW is the worst of the rear wheel drives in the snow having tried both! whilst no rear wheel are great the BMW is def the one you always see being pushed/towed or in a didtch. My friend has the Merc however and she's really pleased with it, it may be a girly thing but she prefers the MM with the touch screen against her merc one! Enjoy your thought process!! :duh:
