Drove mine for the first time in 10 days - got to love the 300 :)
TBH, I've been amazed by how good the car is.
I've always driven German cars and was convinced the Lexus was just a 'stop gap' before I bought her a Merc too but I now find myself thinking whether we should trade up to a GS300 :)

Yes, exact location is mention in the manual.
First car I've ever had where the description of what each fuse does is written in (a rather cryptic way actually) in the cover of the fuse box

Had the same light coming on a few times too. Cause was insuffiently charged Battery.
One night on a charger and all runs well again.

Sorry to hear this. Had the same problem some weeks ago: rim actually cracked. :(
Unsure repairing is always safe. The rims are really under stress.

I still do not understand why people in this country do not invest in winter tyres. They're priceless when it comes to safety.
Because at a fiscal level, they're not worth it. We don't usually get weather than warrents having them for more than a few days. Just don't drive your car when it's that bad. Simple.
Don't agree at all.
In this country, people still live with the myth that wintertyres are only OK if it's snowing and that the Germans could try to invade any time.
Winter tyres work way better than summer tyres when it's les sthan 7-8C, especially when it's wet... which means 5 months per year.
Also, they do not add to the cost as, unless your Lexus has 8 wheels, you don't wear out your summer tyres meanwhile.
You could argue that you have the initial capital outlay, which will add up to a few pounds in interest. Nothing compared to the safety of my family or even the cost of a repair as per the opening post.

Looks like Lexus stealers are as bad as Mercedes stealers in the UK

My intro ! Long term car enthusiast and member of a few car fora.
Last year we were looking for an easy to drive runabout for my girlfriend. She needed a car but was uncomfortable with driving any of the cars we had being afraid she damage the one or be killed by the other. She also did not want a typical hatchback...
I had to requirements: safety and reliability. I travel a lot and last thing I want is her calling me while I am away saying her car broke down.
So I started looking for a second hand car and ended up buying an IS 300 from a local trader. 110000 miles, full option and with a full Lexus service history.
We now have it a year and I find myself driving it fairly often for local trips myself. It's covered only 4700 miles since we got it and is a dream on reliability and easy of driving.

my is300 is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard inthese conditions....just hopeless lol
Agree with you there. IS 300 is without any doubt the most useless car I have ever driven on snow.
Fitted a solution though No probs at all anymore in snow. :)
