  1. Hi How do you remove the window switch cluster in the drivers door please? Ed
  2. Well, it's fixed itself after about 35miles. What other car fixes itself? :D It does raise the question of what caused it though? I'm guessing a loose conection but not sure where? Cheers Ed
  3. Hi Both my Rev Counter and O/D Switch on the gearstick of my '93 LS400 stopped working at the same time. The speedo also stopped initially but that has since come back to life. Any ideas are greatfully received Ed
  4. Steve Has anyone told you recently you're a legend ! :D Cheers buddy Ed
  5. Hi I'm sure it's probably on the vin plate in the engine bay, but where exactly can I find the paint code for my '93 LS400 please? Many thanks Ed
  6. Many thanks for the kinds words folks. Mark, it may be because I've been rattling round in a Celica but it appears smoother. It has been a while though since I last owned an LS400. Cheers Ed
  7. Well, following on from my previous thread I took the plunge and bought the '93 LS400. All the pixels work, as do the heated seats, the dash lights, the gas struts and the steering rack isn't leaking. It's done 81k, MOTed till oct and Cam belt done at 57K. The drivers window has come off it's rails and needs fixing as does a small chip in the windscreen. The cartridge is missing from the CD changer in the boot but all tools, etc are there. There are some tiny dinks in the boddywork but on the whole looks really clean(navy blue). I paid £600 for it and it 's got a full tank of fuel. I'm over the moon. It drives beautifully. Thanks for your help. Pictures to follow. Ed
  8. Hi I'm going to look at a '93 LS400 tomorrow with 80k on the clock. My biggest regret was selling my '97 LS400. What should I look for on this model(is it a series 2?)? When should the cambelt have been changed please? Many thanks for you help. Ed
  9. Saw this on Gumtree and thought it sounded like a good deal. The chap needs to get rid of it quickly. http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/lexus-gs300-quick-sale-595/96936431 Just needs rear discs and pads. Ed
  10. That's exactly what I needed. Many thanks once again Steve. You're a star. Ed
  11. Sorry, I know this sounds like a very mundane question, but is an oil change straight forward on a '96 LS400? Where is the oil filter? I can't see it but haven't taken the plastic apron off yet. And what grade of oil is best? Many thanks Ed
  12. Hi Where can I locate the oil filter on my '96 LS400. Is it a straight forward job? Cheers Ed
  13. Personally I'd sell. We can all get sentimental about cars we've had for a while but if it needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to scratch you'd never see the return on it and there's always jobs you can find to do after that. The new car could be even better( and buying new cars is always fun Good luck Ed
  14. Hi If this link works, its the actual item http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitemversion=&item=180489691131&view=all&tid=0 Hi Steve Thank you very much once again for taking time to give me detailed and invaluable advice. I really appreciate it. Sorry for delay in replying but I've been on holiday(in the Lexus-well not just the Lexus, on the third day my wife said we had to get out of the car :winky: ) All the best Ed
  15. Hi Steve Where did you find the clear front indicators, pretty please. I can't find them either. Cheers Ed
  16. Cheers Malc Wow, that sounds like a special car, and a very good price for that mileage.
  17. Just wondering. I like driving a car that's exactly the same as someone else paid tens of thousands of pounds for a few years ago :D Ed
  18. Always a great feeling ! Well done. How many miles has yours done Steve? Ed
  19. Hi Steve Thank you very much for your response. I don't think I followed the seat memory proceedure exactly as you described so I'll try that. The lights do come on, on the heated seat buttons and it's a 87,000mile '96 model (a Mk 3 I think). Thanks once again ED
  20. Sorry, was that like asking how long is a piece of string? Ed Oh, and the heated seats don't seem to work. I still love it though. :D
  21. Hi I've a few very minor electrical niggles on my car that don't bother me very much but should more occur I wondered how big a job it is to rectify such problems. One of the height adjust switches on my seat appears inoperative and the seat memory appears not to be working. Are these likely to be relatively simple to fix or should I just forget it( ie. is it a huge expensive job?)
  22. It may do on other cars(I think I can see them in your photo) but I don't seem to have them. Ed
