  1. Well, following on from my previous thread I took the plunge and bought the '93 LS400.

All the pixels work, as do the heated seats, the dash lights, the gas struts and the steering rack isn't leaking.

It's done 81k, MOTed till oct and Cam belt done at 57K.

The drivers window has come off it's rails and needs fixing as does a small chip in the windscreen. The cartridge is missing from the CD changer in the boot but all tools, etc are there. There are some tiny dinks in the boddywork but on the whole looks really clean(navy blue).

I paid £600 for it and it 's got a full tank of fuel.

I'm over the moon. It drives beautifully.

    Thanks for your help.

    Pictures to follow.

  2. Hi Ed,

Oil filter is accessed from underneath located on passenger side of engine about halfway along,it's best to completely remove the under engine cover (mixture of bolts and crosshead screws)

Sump drain plug is at rear of sump.

Recommended oil is 5w-30 I use Havoline Fully Synthetic from Morrissons Petrol stations at around £17.00/5 litres ( just enough).

I also use a genuine Toyota filter around £12.00 from Lexus including a new sump plug washer.

Filter is mounted horizontally so only half fill with fresh oil to prime or you will spill oil when fitting, make sure the old seal comes off with old filter, apply a little fresh oil to new seal and hand tighten only.

    That's exactly what I needed.

Many thanks once again Steve. You're a star.

  3. Hi Steve

Where did you find the clear front indicators, pretty please.

    I can't find them either.

    Cheers

    Hi Steve

Thank you very much once again for taking time to give me detailed and invaluable advice. I really appreciate it.

Sorry for delay in replying but I've been on holiday(in the Lexus-well not just the Lexus, on the third day my wife said we had to get out of the car :winky: )

    All the best

  4. Hi

I've a few very minor electrical niggles on my car that don't bother me very much but should more occur I wondered how big a job it is to rectify such problems.

One of the height adjust switches on my seat appears inoperative and

the seat memory appears not to be working.

Are these likely to be relatively simple to fix or should I just forget it( ie. is it a huge expensive job?)

  5. Gentlemen

Firstly, thank you for such useful responses, I think I'm going to enjoy it here.

Secondly, I think I am going to heed your advice and not replace it. I was performing a 3 point turn today and caught the reminance of the trim on a steep driveway. If it had been a new part I possibly would have broken it again.

    Cheers Guys

I appreciate your time helping me out.

    All the best

    Ed
