  1. thanks for that, how noticeable is it though on your Mk2, so for arguments sake with the pwr switched on and you floor it in first, what revs does the box change at? or is it just a snapier gear change, because i dont really know the difference, placebo effect maybe?! lol
  2. Guys; in the current market, what do you value my GS300 sport at 1999 T reg Blue genuine Sport sat nav version unmarked leather with working memory seats! 151k virtually full service history no mechanical faults at all few marks on body but no rusts and nothing gastly honest value? i'm the 5th owner
  3. Hi Tigerfish, yeah the snow mode works perfectly, the snow light comes on the dash and the driving style changes completely so, could it just be the light in the dash, or could the switch be faulty? not having owned a GS300 sport before i really dont know how different the driving will be in pwr mode??
  4. Hi Guys, i'm the proud owner of a GS300 Sport (mk 2, T reg) reading the manual last night apparently when i select the ECT/PWR button, a symbol should appear on the dash but it doesnt. any common problems to look? to be honest, when i switch it on i dont notice a change in the performance, but i'm not sure if it would be that noticeable anyway Anyone fellow sport owners help? PS. this is my second lexus, used to have a IS200 SE, but chopped it in and bought this luxury bus instead - cant believe how nice they are to drive! Matt

  6. Evening Gents; can someone if there is a metal (eith seals) that come off the side of the block (exhaust side) and connects to the back of the water pump? i'd be greatful if someone can ID the part for me and secondly tell me where i can get one from? main dealer only? cheers Matt
  7. its had a head gasket and new radiator prior to my ownership; previous owner put a hole in the rad - think the garage said to replace the headgasket aswell. the bloke knew nothing about cars so i think the garage "saw him coming" so to speak will update once i've sorted it
  8. cheers for the replies guys; havent even managed to get out to the car today; it'll be a job for in the week. i'm pretty confident i havent done any damage; the car restarted fine after it had cooled down and was running on all cyclinders so i'm not that worried about it just hope its a simple fix and not something wrong with the ecu, i "think" the cooling fans are ecu controlled
  9. the standard ecu can not be remapped or chipped dam it! probably why nobody lists a chip for it! thanks for the reply
  10. Evening guys; Can anyone recommend a chip or remap for my 2001 is200? each car i've had i've had them remapped by motorsport developments/ evolution chips, sadly they dont have a map for my car. cheers matt
  11. just thought i'd add, it appears i havent done any damage, the car restarted fine and was running on all cyclinders, i'm pretty certain i havent cooked it. i'll put a tester on it next time i go see my friendly mechanic
  12. Evening gents (& ladies); i'm matt from wiltshire basically i've bought a 2001 Lexuis IS200 SE, it drives very well and i'm impressed; i've come across from an 323i BMW coupe. The issue i'm having is the bloody thing overheated today; driving home the car was perfect, engine temp was bang on half way; pulled up at my house and left it running, i was doing a few bits and then i saw the temp gauge almost touching the red! turned the motor off and left it to cool down; my first thought was the coolant must have leaked out; but the rad was full. Then it dawned on me that i didnt hear the cooling fans!? i'm quite handy with a set of spanners so i'm a little clued up and will give it a bash myself. firstly, any common problems witht the fans not working 2) are the fans ECU controlled? 3) Where is the temp sender? 4) Which relay controls the fans? any help greatfully received thanks, matt
