Easy enough to do if you you are good with the hands
What car is it you changing them on
hi thanks for your reply. It is Lexus IS220d 2008

Hi chaps! Hope everyone is doing great. (and enjoying the last rays of English sunshine before autumn & winter kicks in)
I have a question as the heading suggests, I bought OEM Front and rear brake disks and all round brake pads. Would I be able to fit this myself or is it something that a professinal better do?
Many thanks for your kind help!

Have a look here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-D4S-HID-XENON-BULBS-PAIR-LEXUS-IS250-4300k-OEM-SPEC-/160571075563
These are pretty cheap so ideal for your test out...

Your best bet is either eBay.co.uk or salvage companies...

All I can say is I wouldn't chip IS220 if I were you. It has negative effects over the time + adds too much tension on the diesel engine.
This quote taken from another forum:
" "Chipping" or more accurately reprogramming a modern day diesel is in my opinion just a bad idea. Aside from protecting your engine warranty if still applicable the risk is high that you will shorten the engine's life."
Can't be any clearer.
If you want more rough power, then go for IS-F or M3 types...

Thanks a lot for your help!

Most probably shouldn't buy these...can you imagine how much you'd end up paying to the UK Customs, in a shape of an import duty tax? God forbid me thinking about it...:D

Hi All! In need of a wheel alignment. Never done it before, so any tips appreciated. Perhaps someone knows a good wheel alignment specialist in East London/Essex? How much does it cost roughly for all 4 wheels? Also had my alloys refurbished recently, so don't want them getting scratched. Has anyone ever had their wheels scratched during alignment procedure?
Thanks a lot for your help chaps!

I'm also thinking of painting my callipers in either yellow, silver or black. Undecided yet.... Which one you think will suit my windsor blue car colour with recently refurbished smoked chrome alloys? Pics added. Thanks

Looks like it's bloody brand new! Well done mate! I'm in need of detailing my car too. What procedure you used to get such a deep shine? Love it completely! Nice car too, sometimes I wish I went for IS250 for its smooth engine sound...:)

5W30 fully synthetic
Is this what they put in Lexus when servicing? I thought it was mineral oil.

New to Lexus. Just bought IS220 D SE. A day later my wife reversing broke to Driver side reflector. Can find it anywhere (of course other than dealer £50.00). Tried scrap yards but no luck. Can anyone advise where I can get a second hand? Cheers
eBay is your best shot.

First of all you need to know if it is synthetic or mineral. According to the manual book it is 5w30 which is the preferred choice by the Lexus.
Hope this helps.

Hi guys.
Does anyone know of a good company that does various body paint repairs, like road stone chip marks, small scratches and a couple small dents? Ideally if it is in East London or Essex areas.
Also does anyone know how much it would cost if I were to fully recondition the body paint on the Lexus IS220?
Thx
P.S. This is my Lexus with new refurbed Baransu wheels. Love the look. It was custom painted in deep smoked chrome :)

Hi, need to refurbish my Baransu alloy wheels 18", does anyone know the paint code for these? I've been asked for a paint code so they can repaint them same colour. I'm doing it at The Wheel Experts at North London branch. Thanks Arthur

Thanks guys you are a lifesaver! Thanks a million!

i dont think the diesel has the pressure sensors.
Hmm cheers for prompt reply. Is there perhaps a DIY way of finding out?
-
Probably a very silly question, but how do I find out if my OEM Lexus wheels have pressure sensors in them? It is 2008 Lexus IS220d SE-L Multimedia. Thank you. I m planning on selling OEM 17" wheels off my Lexus once I get 18" rolling. If anyone's interested, then PM me.
Cheerio!

Lexus OEM wheels normally use sleeved wheel nuts so the mating surface on the wheel will be flat and the sleeved insert fits partially inside the hole, after market wheels are normally tapered wheel nuts and the wheel will have corresponding tapers to accept the nut.
Picture below shows the taper nut on the left and Lexus OEM nut on the right.
If you do need taper nuts for the replacement wheels they are fairly cheap for a set including locking nuts.
What ever you do do not fit the wheels on if they are taper type with the sleeve type nuts, they will damage the wheels and they may fall off the car if the nuts loosen
Thank you chaps for your response! I really appreciate your kind help on this matter. I'll see what kind of set I have on mine. I'd think it is sleeved wheel nuts then as I have Lexus stock OEM 17" alloys on my car currently.
Thank you again!

Hi I just upgraded my original Lexus stock 17" alloy wheels to 18" Lexus stock alloys wheels (18" Baransu wheels) My question is: will existing 17" alloy wheel nuts and bolts fit 18" as I haven't yet received them and this is my first alloy upgrade so a bit worried.
Thanks for all your kind help! Arthur
