  1. Basically as you all know LExus IS220d has two sections with MPG, one: Average MPG and other being: Tank Average MPG. Now I know what the core difference is, where I seem to get confused which one is considered the main one? When everyone says I have 46.3MPG or 33.3MPG...which one you take the reading from?

I seem to be lost at the moment because after my last servicing few days ago (60k) tank average MPG has suddenly increased to 49.9MPG and then slowly dropped to 42MPG, but my Average MPG is always 36.7MPG. I have complained to Lexus about this saying that it needs the EGR valve cleaning, but they say they had a quick look and everything seems to be OK. Although they will contact me shortly (within few weeks) to arrange for the car's engine to be taken out and cleaned. Should this work be covered by Lexus?

    Any thoughts will be appreciated!

    Thanks

  2. I was driving on the motorway earlier today, using cruise control. After about an hour a message "Check PCS System" came up on the instrument display with the red warning triangle and the cruise control stopped working. I tried to reset it, but I couldn't and instead got a different message "Check Cruise System". After a few seconds this message went off and the first message came back and now stays on permanently.

Any ideas? I checked the handbook but I wasn't much use. Is this something I can reset myself or does it mean a trip to the dealer? The car is still under waranty.

No idea mate, but it would be best if you ring your dealer up!

  3. Hi all!

Just thought I'd share my experience with Lexus dealer so far..

I'm a bit tied up at work so no have time to even call Lexus Woodford. Tried sending emails to them, after few days of wait and another reminder email, someone finally replied....it seems to be a bit of an issue to get hold of Lexus via email. Some of their emails arrived with no content included.

In the end I decided to call them, which was a good decision! They quoted me £408 for 60k service. I also complained about poor performance of the car and extremely low mpg so they said it is something Lexus has to deal with frequently, so they might even foot the bill! They said I will have to leave the car with them for a week so that they can take the engine out and clean it if that is the case. Has anyone paid for this throughout engine clean? If yes how much it costs? Or should it be covered by Lexus?

Also they quoted me £125 for Sat-Nav upgrade DVD for Lexus is220d 2008. Is it about right?

As well as all this they will give me a courtesy car while mine is being repaired. The only thing that I'm worried is that I'm 24 y.o. Will I still get one?

Any help would be highly appreciated!

P.S. sorry about this quick letter I had only few minutes to write it.

    All the best!

  4. Yes, you are correct. The mirrors do dip when put in to reverse.

You also get front and rear parking sensors and auto dipping rear view and wing mirrors on the SE-L models

Awesome, slowly building the list of differences up :winky:

Thanks guys for your kind responses! I'd be honest I thought L extension stood for long wheel base or air suspension...Well this is what friend of mine was saying :D Sounds silly now :D

  5. Hi guys! This is my first topic!

A bit about my car: I have recently purchased a Lexus IS220d SE-L Multimedia 2008 Windsor Blue with Oakham Beige leather interior and wood inserts. The car is smashing, what a difference from Renault Grand Scenic Privilege 1.6VVT 2007 :D The reason I went for this car is because of its looks, especially the front wheel arches...they make it look like a super-car.. luxury is everywhere in this car...I like built-in multimedia centre with high quality touch screen!

Question: What is really setting apart SE and SE-L editions? I tried looking everywhere no no avail..

Could someone shed some light on this?

    Thank you Lexus club members!!!
