Hello All What a fantastic site! I own an RX400h, which I got new in October '05 and never before thought of joining the owners club....I did'nt even know there was one until a few days ago! I am new to the forum and apologies in advance if my question has been asked before, but I tried searching the threads and I could not locate anything. My query is this: I was given 3 (3 button) remote keys when I got the car, but 2 of these have now broken, ie. the plastic fob housing the remote/transponder have come away from the metal 'key' in both cases. Naturally, I need a spare and I enquired with my local Lexus dealer, which wants the usual driving licence, V5 and utility bill to order another remote key. Thats all cool, but they also want approx £175+vat. Is it me or is that crazy!? My only previous experience of replacing keys was for a previous Prius (also from the same dealership), a few years ago, which cost £60+vat approx. Do I have to go to Lexus and pay their price, or is there a cheaper (but still legal!) option? Many thanks in advance for whoever can help.
