  1. I was talking in general about the mini eatons as he was looking at a complete custom setup so the information on the systems people have put together might have been some use to him :) Ok so i guess the pulley size works both ways lol are the charger pulleys on the merc ones not changable ? Never looked at one in detail.
  2. 5/30 is what is recommended for the IS200 but some people switch to 10/40 on higher milage engines. Follow this link on Comma/Mobils website and it'll tell you the recommended specs of all fluids in the car ---> http://www.commaoil.com/productsguide/vrm/6/5186/1 If by "Which" you meant which brand just stick to the major brands like Mobil / Valvoline / Silkolene / Comma etc and avoid the non branded "tesco value" stuff unless you know who actually makes it. Hope this helps Adam
  3. AND THANK GOD I DID!! After a string of Japanese sports stuff i'm bored of trying too make silly BHP figures and driving stripped out drift cars i'm back in a IS200. It's probably 4 years since i owned my last one (a TTE Charged one) and i forgot how well screwed atogether and refined they are!! Bought the car on Monday and been gagging to give it a full detail and service as there was plenty of paperwork with the car but no major service work done. So after a day of polishing i set about getting everything changed so i can have worry free driving for a while fingers crossed. Did the usual Oil/Air/Fuel/Pollen/PCV Valve/Plugs which were all ready but nothing untoward, then thought i'd tackle the weaping waterpump o-rings and check on the Timing belt condition........... Looks like something has been interfering with the belt and cleanly shredded half of it into masses of fibres sat inside the timing belt cover !! lol Oh well least i saw it in time i'd already bought a full timning belt kit, aux belts and a water pump to do next weekend but looks like it's tomorrows job instead :) CHECK YOU TIMING BELTS IF YOU DON'T KNOW THERE HISTORY!! It's better than sitting at the side of the motorway wishing you had ;)
  4. I've done silly things with tyre stretch in the past dont panic ;) theres nothing a bead blaster or a tin of hairspray can't seat lol I was thinking of a 225/40 on a 9.5j ET35 on the rear with a roll and it was just the front that was getting me thinking nice to see how they sit, will look a hundred times better one you've dropped on the bumper.
  5. Smaller charger pulley = Charger spinning faster ie more boost. If you want infomation on Superchargers especially the BMW Mini Eatons then browse MX5nutz forum as theres a massive amount of work has been done with them. The throttle at the supercharger end is basicly to bypass the charger when your throttles shut, i allows the engine to run no/very little boost at low throttle load to help with MPG etc. Imagine small throttle input no boost and engine sucking through a air filter then plant throttle bypass butterfly closes and engine see boost from the charger. It's been a few years since i owned a TTE charged IS so cant remember the exact setup on them but thats roughly how it comes together. If you do think about using a simular setup with bypass throttles make sure you dont show the throttle body butterfly to much resistance as it throws the car in limp mode and generally sucks lol. I'd try a BOV for funky noises.
  6. So 18x9.5 ET35 i guess??? they sit nice and flush, have you done any arch work ?
